Tokyo Allotment - July 6-7 2024
Getting very hot in Tokyo, and also on the plot.
I harvest a bucket of spuds and I'm happily surprised by the progress of my sweet potatoes.
Frank and Des pop in with a radical proposal for dealing with Climate Change and for producing more cheese.
Bike ride up the river. The Sad Tree has gone...

Hello John, good potato harvest. At least you got an early summer we are still waiting for ours. My tomatos are as big as a pea. I think The New Labour government has cancelled our summer. First sign of cutbacks. We'll still have sad memories of the sad tree 😪. 👍 Thank you 🖐

Thanks Vin! The weather is making gardening difficult for everyone, it seems. I know the UK has had a very wet spring, and over here Tokyo will be 37C today...again...! Yes, Sad Tree now history, but I'll be interested to see how that area changes.

The weeds and grass shoot up quicker there than here i think. Love the atmospheric early morning there. 360 cam great. A real shame about the trees. Rice looks good. Already looked at Udio! My missus landing there Thurs morning 😏.

The weeds wouldn't be such a problem if I was down on the plot more regularly, like every few days. But I don't mind doing a bit of weeding - that grass will dry down to some nice straw I can use as mulch. Early morning is such a nice time, especially in the summer. Yes, shame about the trees. I will keep monitoring the work down there, see how it develops - it really is a huge, long term project - perhaps they know something we don't...! Hope your wife has a good trip.
