A story. A man fires a rifle for many years. and he goes to war. And afterwards he comes home, and he sees that whatever else he may do with his life - build a house, love a woman, change his son's diaper - he will always remain a jarhead. And all the jarheads killing and dying, they will always be me. We are still in the desert.

After being deployed and building those strong bonds, when you come home and go your own ways in life, you never come back the same, and you still keep in touch, trust me, i know and can relate to this ending all too well!

I love the part where the 6 Marines are walking in the desert. Reminds me of myself when I was in Iraq 6 years ago with those I served with.

@matthew1232k Jarhead was never intended on being anti-war. It wasn't intended on being pro-war either. It's purely a story of a marine's life in the military. I saw nothing political in the movie at all. It just wasn't violent because that's how things really were for Swofford.

Yes, because You want to be a part of this brotherhood. Feel that in every fellow soldier there is a part of You, and everybody else see You as a part of them. Army (or Marine) is always one thing, it depends on the bond of every soldier with another.

@Onedemonchild His mind is still there reliving what happend When he got back he had a mental collaps it seems and... He still thinks those that were with him are still there but there not. :/ My grandfather never adjusted back to civilian life I onnly saw him twice in my life. @Tr3v3336 It's ironic you say that, in the book he talks about how that he knows most movies are anti-war, but they motivated him.

right but guessing from your name you're not a female, I was talking about what she was limited too, and as her being a female the closest she could get to infantry is being an MP

um...I believe that is what he meant. In fact, he pretty much said it.

@jordanjaloudi96 eh not necessarily. so far so good, except for when I started with some scenes from a movie (can't remember what it is) they removed it after a few days. yet most of them are alright. songs are the same way too, it's a 50/50 chance - who knows
