As a 60 year old nurse who still eats a very clean diet, lifts heavy weights, takes no medications, and lives a frugal lifestyle now to invest in a peaceful future when I retire, I can wholeheartedly say that I confuse just about everyone I deal with. I feel exactly the same as I did when I started working in 1989. I have no actual plan to retire. I'll be the buff old Betty still taking care of patients when I'm 80. Probably still driving my 09 Toyota Rav4 too. 😂😂💪

HSA is great hedge against having to withdraw from retirement savings for medical bills. And if one happens to be relatively healthy in later years, it acts as an extra retirement account

It's unfortunate that the government has allowed even more reasons to dip into your retirement accounts. You should consider them untouchable until you retire.

I completely agree with you. The financial advisor percent AUM (assets under management) model is a destroyer of wealth. I avoid those advisors using that model and manage my portfolio which I enjoy.

Jarrad, thank you for continually sharing top-quality info and videos! I would also love to hear your advice on what someone can do after maxing out all the generally-advised accounts (like 401k, IRA, HSA, 529, etc) - what would be great next steps ideas before investing into taxable accounts? Thank you for all your hard work and generosity. Your content has changed the game for financial education!

Can you make a video explaining when a Brokerage account can and should be used in comparison to say a Money Market account? When to utilize either of those and the benefits/risks eludes me.

Hey man, I just wanted to say thank you for all the videos. I finally got my head out of my butt and decided to stop trying the KZbin 3 fund portfolio and decided to go the route of 80/20 us/international total market index funds instead. I’m not ready to add bonds just yet at 30, but I believe this is a better long term solution than trying the new portfolio that’s blowing the market away.

Doctors learn a lot about anatomy and physiology and how the body works. Indeed it is a lot more than 11 hours worth, and nutrition is not all you need to know to be informed about physical fitness. It is true that the focus in healthcare is on the pathology or diseases, and not much is discussed about prevention. We would all be smart to focus on prevention as well as treatment of disease. My suggestion is to ask about what and how you can do more to prevent disease. The answers can be simpler and easier than only focusing on treatment of disease.

I don't like the term never when saying not to work with an AUM advisor. I remember Kitces speaking about this one advisor who charges AUM, but he was the only person with such expertise on TSP planning. The advisor literally wrote the only book on a very niche topic. Bottom line if you have very specialized needs, it may require a specialist who charges more than the typical advisor. You have to consider value, not just cost.

Some people associate “fit” with being skinny regardless of muscle mass. The emphasis is on the muscle/strength part which I don’t think is as obvious as you claim. If you already knew this then congrats you know more than the majority

Some sponsors dictate where we put their ad read. KZbin decides when the ads play. If you have issues with either of those then either stop watching youtube content, send your feedback to those two companies, or suck it up at stick through it/skip it.
