Though I have a suggestion, can you please try out the games on lower resolution and settings (or maybe the settings from video but with RT) as a way to test the CPU performance? In my experience, most of these scenarios might just be GPU bottlenecked and might not give the difference between CPUs. For example, my Ryzen 7 5800H gets rekt while playing Spiderman with RT on, and the GPU goes underutilized, suggesting a weak CPU performance with RT. Similar thing happens with Cyberpunk on RT Medium settings, where I struggle to get a constant 60FPS with DLSS Quality on 1080p with RTX 3070 laptop, due to the CPU bottlenecking the GPU (~70% GPU util).

40W Performance of the 7840HS is nuts!!! It's even better with the better binned 7940HS!! That low power Performance is so important because that means you can get great performance in silent mode!!

Hi Jarrod, I would really like to see a review comparing the ASUS TUF Gaming A15 FA507 and the ASUS TUF Gaming F15 FX507 or at least just a review of one of them. Preferably the lower spec ones with RTX4050s and for CPUs something like 12 gen 12700H for the intel one and Ryzen 7 7735HS for the AMD one.

Was the witcher 3 test done with an fps limit? It's kinda a pointless comparison if the game gets cpu bound and gpu is eating less power as it's waiting for the next frame.
@JarrodsTech3 ай бұрын
It was, and it's not pointless, it's preferable because we know both laptops are producing the same result. If one was doing more FPS then how long the battery lasts becomes meaningless.

Interesting; it's almost at the point of whichever laptop is less expensive, if all else is equal, might be the way to go (generally). My only concern is i have had such poor experience with AMD chips, including in my kid's current Lenovo Yoga 6, that if the price is comparable, for me personally, I would choose Intel. But I'm also not an AMD hater. I'm sure other people have had the opposite experience than I have had.
