Here's a little honorable mention: The Dell XPS 14 has the slowest Ada GPU on the planet, being a 30W RTX 4050. Despite that, it performs the exact same as a GTX 980 Ti running at 250W. While that sounds good in a vacuum, comparing a 2024 Laptop to a 2015 GPU is a silly comparison. I just happened to find that interesting.

I have a Eluktronics and it's kind of crazy how larger brands haven't jumped on water cooled laptops yet given that thermals is the biggest limiter for laptops. XMG/Eluktronics have limited brand visibility due to being Tongfang rebrands, but I think a Lenovo or ASUS water cooled laptop at a place like Walmart would turn A LOT of heads Edit: I guess the biggest issue would be production scope, since Tongfang can sell the same water cooling systems as XMG/Eluktronics/Cyberpower, but companies like Lenovo would need 2-3 water cooling compatible models or partner with a different brand to save on manufacturing costs

Year after year, you keep proving that you are the very best gaming laptop reviewer in the world. Thank you, Jarrod, for your hard work! When you're at CES next month, I suspect you will find that almost all high-end 18" gaming laptops, except maybe for Alienware m18, will have dropped the Mini DisplayPort, which is a pity considering that DisplayPort 2.1 is about to be widely adopted. I realize that their reason for this is that most users have switched to Thunbderolt-compatible displays, but I also suspect that none of them will replace the missing Mini DP port with a third Thunderbolt 5 port. MSI dropped the Mini DP from the Titan 18 HX this year and never replaced it with a 3rd TB5 port. Razer dropped the Mini DP around 2019 and are still stuck at 1 TB port & 1 USB-C port! Can you please ask the major manufacturers whether it is at all possible to bring back the Mini DP in the coming years, or at the very least, have 3 TB5 ports (in addition to keeping the 3 USB-A, 1 HDMI, 1 2.5G Ethernet, & SD card reader)? I mean what's the point of having a large 18" chassis if the ports are not differentiated from the 16" models? If Alienware can do it, why can't Razer & MSI do it, too? I would deeply appreciate it if you could cover this specific point. Thank you.

( youtube veteran ! ) If you could test such "alternative" Configuration it would be awesome ! for thoses who doesn't want the best GPU but a good Laptop still it would be interesting to fit just the specs of lower specs. maybe i'm in a niche, but a 3000€ laptop vs 4000 or 5000 + is a difference between buy and not buy in my case !

23:47 that's the gaming laptop industry problem especially with dGPU stagnation this year: a laptop gamer already made their choice prioritising performance over lightness and portability. There's no shame in designing a laptop that's 'inherently' thin (CPU + GPU requiring less power, vapour chamber cooling, thinner oled display panel, frigging Frore Airjets or some other black magic cooling) but leveraging thickness improvements toward reducing thickness instead of fitting in more performance and features is looked down upon by gamers.

In my country you can buy an HP Omen 14 with a GTX 4060 for a little over $1,100, which I think is a pretty good price for this laptop. The build quality, as I've seen in many reviews, was mediocre in places, as was the gaming performance compared to other laptops with the same graphics card. However, for this price we get an OLED screen, Type-C charging, a metal body, a really interesting keyboard, excellent battery life and really good performance, considering the DLSS capabilities. I'm currently considering buying it and the Asus Rog Zephyrus G14 2022, but I'm leaning towards the first option right now, because I read on Reddit that the liquid metal system in the Asus can leak and cause a short circuit, I'm even afraid to imagine what would happen to a laptop for $1,100 (this Asus model costs exactly that much in my country)

Thanks for the video, it's really helpful and clear. Looking for a laptop to use in school and gaming, I'll use apps like Unity and want to play games like Elden Ring and God of War at maximum settings, so I've decided to buy Asus ROG Zephyrus G16 with AMD CPU, 32GB RAM and RTX4070 because it's very light, less noisy, looks premium and yet very powerful. It's 200$ off right now in the Asus E-Store but still don't know if it's worth the price, would you buy it if you were in my place?
