Without a doubt my favorite plane of the patch. Despite 16v16, the Gripen forces me to enjoy top tier again. 10/10 recommend.

the best part is that the room for expansion with this plane is insane. You can get the AMRAAM, potentially(or eventually) the IRIS-T and Meteor. There are glide bombs and quite a good bit more of stuff that the Gripen could potentially have added to it. It really is an insane aircraft

A bit hard to happen, a big problem with NATO stuff is getting old armament, like, all chinese jets of 11.0 or more, have at least 9L(PL-5B), while many NATO jets like phantoms, F14A, and others, still with 9G/9J/9H. Gaijin rarely update the armament of vehicles of olds updates.

I don't think the Gripen A will get any fox-3's, the Gripen C for Sweden will probably just get AMRAAM's, and the E will get the IRIS-T's and Meteors, as well as the AIM-9X

People REALLY discount the design of aircraft over their thrust. Yes, the Gripen lacks thrust, but the way its designed and controls it's self is what gives it such great performance. It's why I was saying, despite what everyone else was, that this thing would still be a good fighter. Even the A and C, not just the E. Design matters so much more than people really realize. So this things performance is absolutely no surprise to me. Yeah, its a delta wing, but its a delta wing with massive, moveable canards on a ridiculously light airframe that's also incredibly aerodynamic (much less drag than one would think). So glad they didn't neuter it (tho it is probably still slightly over performing). Also I couldn't place it before but the way you talk and sound reminds me a lot of LevelCap, just with a deeper voice.

Yes, it's absolutely true. I hope someday people will realize that this also applies to the Su-27 and Mig-29, as they are aircraft with one of the most (if not the most) advanced lifting body ever built, but people still think that the f-15 should easily outturn the su-27 in the rate fight, even at low speeds due to the t/v ratio...

​@@evangalinsky2499 I don't think its really over performing, but its not acting the way it should. The canards are doing nothing, or actively harming its performance since they are turning the wrong direction (eg forcing the nose down when you try to pull up). It cant pull anywhere near the AoA that it should be able to on war config, its sustain turn is slightly too high, and it should lose more energy when pulling into a turn (though mostly because of the greater AoA). It should keep energy quite well for a delta, but that's only because of the canards, which aren't working...

just one thing about the spotting with the targeting pod that you mention at 7:40, that was a thing when the f14B was dropped. i exploited that heavily for my team in spotting the enemy from like 20km out which honestly always won me games cause ppl knew where everyone is. and at the same time if your hunting for the last guy and cant find him you basically have 20km line of sight in any direction to find them lmao.

Thats a rumor because it's true irl. Probably will be the case in WT too once sweden gets the C and there will be an actual difference between the 2 planes, making the weight worth modeling as well. But right now, theyre the exact same in the files.

In the recent patch the ammo count on the Gripen was lowered from 512 rounds to 120 rounds, still great in a dogfight, but it feels like you need to be conservative with ammo in order to secure gun kills, other than that, looks very nice.

They did that because that’s what the gripen carries irl and is historically accurate the 512 was just a placeholder is the same as the f16 ammo count

we need a rework of top tier Air RB. 16v16 furball clusterfucks are not enjoyable, specially not with fourth gen aircraft. We need more airfields, smaller teams, spread objectives across the map, and maybe even implement EC for Air RB. Otherwise we will be forever stuck with the furballs. Currently there's no space for BVR or dogfights, and that's sad.

the power creep is insane. idk how they thought a mig29 and su27 should be at the same BR. If they use BR to balance the game in a way that I think they do(which im honestly not sure their judgement even makes sense) then the su27 should be at least 12.7 along with the f15, mirage 4000, and JAS39's. Not even top tier is screwed up at the moment though because 9.0-10.3 is majorly screwed up simply because some jets don't have flares and then face 30g missiles and 30g all-aspect missiles and can't do a single thing against them except die. I understand it is super difficult sometimes to balance things especially around that 9.0-10.3 area, but with how things go it really makes me wonder if gaijin even gives a sliver of their time to just focus on fixing it.

Yeah. This is one of the things that really need to be addressed in the next roadmap. 16v16 also makes bluewater naval way too hectic as well.

Yes it’s very effective in any jet, as long as you have enough counter measures. Very few do, but the Gripen is one of them. R27ERs are very difficult to trash and requires a lot of chaff, and you’ll need plenty left over flares for IRCCMs after

I didn't even notice because I use the same colors. IMO the default blue and red are too dark and can fade into the background too easily. IMO the brighter blue and magenta shades contrast better and area easier to read.

The whole point of European fighters are about winning the 1 circle as fast as possible, as 2 circle fights just gets you a fat r74 in the ass. Second: The turn rate of the gripen is literally classified to the point of everytime they film a pilot fly the jet they censor the airspeed so the russians can't calculate the turn rate. I don't know where you found that information but it's most definitely fake. Also it can sustain 9g's turn rate for a decent amount of time, not like american fighters but it can pull 10 times the aoa than all american jets except the f22 for obvious reasons. Also it can carry Meteor missiles which literally outclass the aim120 in every way. Thanks for reply love your videos, sorry if my english sucks not first language.

Ive noticed with the influx of F15's and all the other new jets.... all on the same BR, getting matched with and against F4's..... the F4's are now snails and should never meet those guys in "top tier" which F4's clearly are not. The F15 and its new companions in top tier should never face an F5, ever, full stop, period. Gaijin now needs to fix its seeding system.

I called gripen "black screen". Gripen is pretty fun, but it's difficult to be very effective bcz of weapons, cannon is pretty weak, aim9m feels nerfed. I still prefer m2k 5f if i wonna fun. Also it's pretty mid ground attacker bcz of awful altis, it's like im on British jaguar again. Anyway, gripen is a good addition to the sweden tree.

So why is it when people *in general* talking about the Gripen its always positive like oooh look how it destroys everything, has an absolutely broken flight model but "in a good way" and all the flares EVAR, again, "in a good way". But, people focusing on the SU27, its like this is the prime example of power creep, its overpowered, this proves Russian bias... When in game, for me at least, its like flying a Oversized MIG that honestly is not bad at all. But certainly not the overpowered god plane some people say it is just to complain about it. 10 Missiles is nice, sure, but the maneuverability of the Gripen is ridiculous, that combined with the fact they can just continuously release chaff for the duration of the fight makes them... "challenging" to fight. Just... sigh sometimes, it sucks to be a "bad guy" main, but, I'm so happy I finally got the SU27, I have always loved its design and features. And again. I'm NOT saying this video specifically highlights what I'm saying this is just a general observation on my part.
