I don't have my own panther story but what I did have were honest grandparents who didn't tell lies and were not the type to make up tales or even sensationalize anything. My Granny told me about a lady who had taken the children to visit her parents. She walked. Back then, early 1900s, neighbors were miles away. And that was the case here. Their farms connected but their homes were not close. It was her weekend ritual to take the children on a weekend evening over to her parents for dinner. Granny told me the woman saw the animal in the hay field right near the fence line. There was nothing she could do but continue on. She knew better than to run and it would have only gotten them chased. She was not near either home. No one heard her. She got the older children over the fence and as soon as the baby on her hip was handed over the fence to the older child, the large black cat pound. They did not find her remains but there were garment shreds, blood, and knocked down hay, like a drag path. It was blamed on a panther and no one questioned that because it wouldn't have been uncommon. Tennessee Western North Carolina border, in a place that has long been Cherokee National Forest.

Same general location, many a few evenings during my childhood, at the foot of the mountain, I'd come into the house, running and hollering for help because of an unseem screaming. Everyone acted like I said I saw the ice cream truck coming. Oh, that's just a panther hollering. It's time to come in now. Some times Pappaw would humor me and come outside. "Yep, that's a panther. I told you what it is." Why would people who were not liars say something like that to a child? If they believed it was a woman screaming, which is exactly what it sounded like, they would have investigated or called for help.

I believe Mr Phil and Uncle Si about what they saw! I saw an alligator at West Point Lake in GA! With my own eyes! They are there and I believe it’s bc you can buy baby gators in FL and when they get bigger people let them go out there. The gator I saw was about 5-6 feet. Scary 😱

Jase cracked me up regarding his statements on theology (I'm a current Master of Divinity student). He's noticing the difference between biblical theology and systematic theology. Systematic theology is where you get all of the "three syllable words." To clarify, a word that is absent in Scripture can be properly used to designate a concept that is taught in the Bible. One of the most fundamental examples is the word "Trinity," which is obviously not used in Scripture. The biblical teaching that God is not a single person but three persons is central to the entire Christian faith. The man made terms of systematic theology shouldn't be of concern, Jase. The reason they're there is for conceptual organization and analysis. It actually makes things easier to talk about! Imagine trying to teach the Trinity while only using words found in Scripture. That would be quite a task! Since the Holy Spirit is the One who guides our teaching and discernment of Scripture, can He not use systematic terms to help us comprehend a little better? I hope that makes sense. Love you guys. Your brother in Christ, Christian.

I was listening to a different episode but wanted to ask my question on a more recent one. I grew up catholic. My parents didn’t really take me to church but I went with my neighbors and grandparents. I asked to go all the time. I haven’t read the whole bible…. I have been listening to Unashamed for a little bit and started feeling like I did when I was younger and more into the church. My question is about grief. How do I stop being angry? My oldest brother died in 2013 at 33. Pneumonia. My dad died of cancer 07/2022 then my other brother died at 39 09/2022. Is there a bible verse about that kind of grief? I’m about to be older than my brothers ever got to be.

It’s very possible it was a Jaguar. They are being seen more and more across the southwest and northern Mexico which was once apart of their native range. While that would be quite a migration across a lot of heavily populated cities and roadways it is still possible. But to me the most likely possibility is that some have escaped from a private collection after a big storm wiped out their enclosure. The swampy Louisiana wetland habitat is absolutely perfect for them to survive and still go unnoticed. Jaguars can do very well in a wide range of habitats but they seem to thrive in the central and south American rainforests. So it would be very easy to see how they could survive in the swamp Forrest of Louisiana. Plenty of critters to catch and eat and other than the alligator and the occasional black bear there is little to no competition at the top of the food chain.

Dallas Jenkins in the preface if The Chosen presents a Blended harmony of the Gospels. He relayed the story of some Bible smugglers in Iran. While they were trying to figure out why the vehicle stopped. A person comes up to them in the dark, saying God had told him to come to that spot to wait for Bible. They gave all the Bibles they had and asked if he wanted them to come to presch the Bible to his village. He walked away in the dark saying " no, Bible preach". Like wow!

I have a family member that is a prederist and believes that Jesus 's mother, Mary, was not a virgin at Jesus's birth for many reasons I can not speak if here or entertain. There are other differences also. Bottom line, the Lord imoressed me with this: 'being right does not always equate to truth but truth is always right'. I will not make a doctrine about man's beliefs, which is not always truth. Obedience to Christ and His word is key. There is no room for 'sensationalism' LOL!!! Jase, I am not calling you a sensationalist! I'm just poking fun!
