I have used this video so many times for motivation over the years, and I can definitely say a breakup or rejection is a great motivator. That being said, the negative reinforcement works to a point. You have to start exercising because YOU want to be healthier and be a better version of yourself, not because you are a piece of shit or hate who you are. Otherwise, it will become a cycle of losing and gaining weight, with no real mental change happening. I didn’t start keeping the weight off until I went to therapy and started having a more positive view of my body and character. It’s as much a mental challenge as it is a physical one, and I think we often forget that. I wish everyone the best on their individual journeys and hope you all are able to achieve your goals. Keep pushing, my dudes!!!

I at least come here to watch that video once a year and… it blows me away everytime. I love everything about this video. the storyline, the overvoice, the acting, the music, when it‘s fast, loud and funny. the sad moments, the silent ones… the framing of the scenes and the playfulness of the whole storytelling in general. but most of all, never have I ever seen such a short video that simply shows life in all realness, with it‘s complexity in cooping with depressions… the makers deserve every single award there is for such a video. thanks a lot, it‘s a relief to watch everytime and it makes me expanding my chest for a moment.

Actually, this was pretty deep. Normally, people aren't unhappy because they're fat, they're fat because they're unhappy. Their life is out of balance and they cope by getting a small bit of joy wherever they can (that's what obese binge eating, alcoholism, drug abuse, gaming/gambling addiction are - momentary reprieves from the fact that you're unhappy). Getting back into balance can often begin with getting back in shape because it's visible, tangible proof you can take some control back. And then you meet your Melissa. The video, I think, makes fun of the health pro-tips and gets back to the bare bones of the health issue - general wellness and fulfillment in life.

3 years ago, around 28 years old, i went through the worst breakup of my life and the only way i knew how to cope was to binge drink on the regular. Cocaine and alcohol became my best friends. I became extremely self destructive not caring about my friendships, relationships or well being. I lost shape, lost my will to be a productive member of society, lost money, but worst of all, I lost time which I can never get back. After watching this video a few years back, i decided that change was necessary. i joined a gym, quit drinking, focused on my own well being and mental health like my life depended on it... because it did! I'm glad to report back that ive turned a new leaf! im nearly 2 years sober, in the best shape of my life and recently started dating the woman of my dreams. To whoever is going through a bad breakup or is having issues with substance abuse (coz i know its easy to ignore your substance abuse issue but it sits in the back of your mind all the time doesn't it?): Take care of yourself first and things start falling into place. Hang in there. Life gets so much better! :-) EDIT: it didn't work out with the dream girl but that's alright alright alright :-)

After I encountered this video, I started working out everyday, just like a kind of monk mode. It just hurts that at one moment there your best friend, and then they dont wanna know or worry about you but only talk about there problems and there crushes. Also bro your friend did you dirty i feel for you. Stay strong and build yourself and dont let your desire or dream to change yourself die. Build yourself because not many people will help you thru your journey, but once you do you will be stronger for the better.

I was with this girl for 5,6 years just friends, I joined band and the one act play and tennis because she ask me. After awhile I finally had the guts to ask her out but she kindly rejected me and I thought it was because she talked about not dating in high school to my friends but then I ask her to prom, she said yes and we go and have a fantastic time, I even had the chance to hold onto her and dance with her but a week after prom she tells me she has a boyfriend.

I just broke up with a cheating girlfryend (2 years relationship), i was so dependent of her, i am now learning how to live alone lost my mom last year and her was all i had. But a i found this video and it is so motivational that it makes me want to get my shit together, get in shape, get my self confidence back (has gone a long time ago), start a new life. wish you all the best, i know that the majority of you are here like me, trying to do our best to get our shit together again.

jesus its amazing how similar your story is to mine, a month ago found out my gf of almost 2 years was cheating on me, 2 days later i started to exercise again because it was literally the only thing that got my mind off of her for just a little bit and those few minutes when i could not think about her were so addicting i kept doing it till right now, my goal is to become her biggest loss by the end of the year which is just around the corner, like the video said though, time is all i need, i feel much better now than when i did a month ago. honestly though i hope you dont feel like youre alone on this (or anyone here thats also going through something like this) .... cant give up man

Buy healthy stuff that you're less likely to binge on. If a snack has protein, you'll feel fuller faster. Eat to fuel and satisfy your tastebuds.
