I always thought of goal planning was for really big things and I found it very hard to figure out what my goals were. Seeing things like celebrating your birthday or learning a new recipe on your goals list opened up the possibility for me to actually set goals for myself. Thanks for sharing this.
@Cordelia0704p9 ай бұрын
I think we all do that. At least, I know I do, and it's still hard to not be like oh that's a task it's not a goal, for anything that isn't big.

Glad you found it useful! 💜 I don’t like to restrict my goals based on them needing to be big, even if I totally sometimes fall into the trap of thinking “this should be bigger” 👀 need to remind myself that not every goal needs to be a huge life-changing thing 💪

You could google SMART goals, we use that acronym in my work. It’s a way to set goals in a way that’s achievable. Like making a series of small goals that help achieve a bigger goal. As a teacher, I’ve taught kids how to do this to set their learning goals without being overwhelmed. Just an idea 💡

I wanted to say thank you so much for normalizing imperfection and realistic scale in your videos. I know one of my biggest challenges in trying to maintain a journal practice is feeling ashamed when I don’t complete all the elements (lists, trackers, etc) that I set myself up for… largely because I tend to make those goals unnecessarily “big”! It’s so much more accessible and realistic to say “these are some things - little and big alike - that I’d like to do, but won’t be beating myself up over if I don’t”. Thanks again ❤

One of my 101 items is to read a book that your book club is reading and I just got a second entry, to do your readathon so I really hope you put this together. I was doing a post-Christmas cleanup today, and after organizing my desk I thought 'hmm... I have a lot of empty notebooks. What am I gonna do with these?' Clearly, Google was listening, because here I am! 😂 I'm not much of a bujo girlie (I'm too indecisive), but I've wanted to try a doodle-scrapbook journal for a few years and never got around to it. Maybe I'll start a journal just for my list! You could make a short (or not) journal entry for items that are more fun, and include a little scrap, souvenir, or doodle along with it! Next year I want to focus on small adventures - giving myself little things to look forward to so I don't spend all of my time stressing about the big things. I don't think I'll make my list 101 items though... maybe I'll shorten it to 40 or 50 for now.

And doing NaNoWriMo is super loose here, because I don't think I'm going to have the time to officially participate, but I want to see how even just doing it for myself will help my writing.

I am seriously considering doing this for 2024. The 1st 4 months of my year are crazy as a tax preparer in the US, so big goals don't tend to do well in those 1st 4 months. Last season could have been making it to the bed before falling asleep. Most of it was spent sleeping in my recliner. (Different meds then so might be a bit better this year.) But this and the 24 in 2024 are certainly looking like a good, productive, motivational tool. Extra tools in the tool box are always beneficial. This month has been 24 by 2024. I have way more, but I do 1 list at a time or as it nears completion, I replace completed ones with new things that come up.(Using milestones as stage goals and then upscaling as I go has been a successful go to for years.) I got diagnosed this year over the summer with ADHD complex as my inattention, inner hyperactivity, and low impulse control/emotional control were severe. Hyper focus has always been my best friend in the past in relation to important things. Heck, I have called my parents to say I was staying home to keep cleaning while the need to clean everything was consuming me. I mean I moved furniture to clean under and decluttered areas doing it so it is always a running joke and open offer (both parents are disabled so pain feeds into everything for them) to come do theirs after if still consumed in the hyper focus. My cousin about 6 years younger than me was diagnosed earlier, and she said her hyperfocus was never that beneficial. She said she'd forget to set alarms like I do to break the focus, so I told her how I cheat and set them for every day so they turn themselves back on without me having to do it. The only time I need to adjust is tax season where I can set my fitbit to buzz my wrist as reminders to eat, tske a few minutes break, time sensitive meds.... A set schedule keeps me better regulated as well.

Check with your local EMS, hospital, or American Heart Assoc. about it. Oh! And it's good for 4 years.

Nice to see an imperfect list. Like I mean as in you didn’t do things on it and start realising some of them maybe you can remove because they aren’t that important to you. Always up to date calendars, tracking calendars, entries)

Some things on my list: getting a professional massage ( I like massages and it would be a nice treat) Draw a whole sticker design ( I have one at the sketching stages) Write 5 letters to anyone I know Style a wig I have had for years Bake bredele ( they’re thin biscuits with main flavours being cardamom and cinnamon) Workout my arms for gender affirming care Go out on an afternoon with the intention of taking pictures of things. Like with artistic intent. Make a drag look for pride ( it’s going to be a cowboy drag king) Learn at least 3 recipes from my grampa ( because if I don’t they’ll forever be forgotten with him) Drawing a mural ( this depends on finding either an abandonned wall or a willing person) Play chess2 ( it’s chess with extra dimensions it seems fun ) Do a puzzle Enter a stamp competition ACTUALLY decorate my room instead of having a pile of decoration that won’t move until I move out Make any kind of candy ( and then hate myself during the cleanup) This one is a fun one I want to build a raft and travel a bit on it on a river near my city.

I did a very small list last year and now that I'm looking at it I didn't do any of the things I put on it :( I think part of my problem is that I didn't look at it again so I have added "update list in March, June, Sept. & Dec." I'm also going to set calendar reminders so that I will remember to look at the list. I'm struggling with deciding if I want to put my lengthy house projects list on here or keep it separate. On the one hand it would be nice to have on here, but on the other I do like having all the house projects together.
