Mine came with bent front rotor due to shipping. Bike shop fixed it for 15 bucks ! Rides fantastic no other problems . I think it's heavy , besides that no problems !!!
@EbikeProducts3 ай бұрын
Sorry to hear that you had a rotor bent. I'm happy to hear it was not too expensive to fix. I never thought much about the weight, but now that you mention it, it is a little on the heavier side for the size of this ebike. Thanks for watching and sharing, safe riding!

Thank you for a very nice review. I purchased a pair of the EB5 Roamer STs about 4 months ago. I went into this purchase knowing these were going to be of fair to average quality. As you pointed out, there are a lot of thoughtful features as well as some cut corners. I have spent time attempting to "dial" them in with accessories and configuration. Up to now, My e-bike experience has been a pair of Ecotric Bikes. A Seagul and Leopard (Mountain Bike Configuration). Having nothing to compare them with, they functioned in a way that I would expect. A gentle assist based on the setting 1-5 and the gearing. Top assist level 5 enables throttle and a 20 mph (+/-) top speed. I find the Jasion substantially different. Pedal Assist Level #1 and gear at 2.. at about a pedal rotation of 1 and a half, you get a kick in the pants acceleration to 10 mph. At PAS 2 there is another jolt pushing you up to 15 MPH and so on. I have reached out UNSUCCESSFULLY to Jasion Support as I feel there are adjustments in the PAS Controller. The Controller has levels P01 - P020. The User Manual only addresses P01 - P06, P08 and P16. I have found P10, P11, P17 to be "Locked" and not permitting adjustment. I have made multiple attempts to communicate with Customer Service / Support for the "out of box" defaults and/or access to the locked settings. (With the "out of box settings" I can always reset. Should something not feel right. In your presentation, you keep referring to the bike as a commuter bike. Does that imply a different type of performance than one might see from a "vacation / recreation" rental.? Thank You Jim

does anybody else who owns this bike find that level one is actually too fast and requires careful consideration of use when moving across short distences ?

The tires shown in this video are the tires that came with the ebike and were never changed out. They ran fine for me and were comfortable to ride.

waddup man how would you consider this bike for doordashing and all that ? from your pov , also great review
@EbikeProducts7 ай бұрын
Yes, this is a bike that could definitely be used for that. Personally, I see more door dashers using 20" fat tires more, maybe due to the low profile to get on and off and also if you have a load on the rack, the lower the bike the easier it is to stay balanced at stops with a lower center of gravity. If you are taller, that shouldn't be an issue though, just be aware you may need to swing your leg over the food carrier on the rack that may be kind of high.

I have to go up a hill that’s a little steep in my city for my commute, will this bike handle it? Also, do you need to use peddle assist or can the bike go by itself when charged.
@EbikeProducts4 ай бұрын
That will depend on a few different factors. If you want to do throttle alone, it may be able to handle it as long as you are not too heavy and how steep the hill is. No matter what brand of ebike you use, I recommend always helping any rear hub motor up hills to prevent burning the motor out. This goes for any ebike, not specifically the Jaison. I think the Jaison can handle most hills in most areas, but how much you help it will make a difference. This ebike will perform very typical of others in its class, so if it can/cannot handle the hill, others will be the same with similar components. By the way, 1100 watts is likely peak power so compare ebikes that are about 500-750watts nominal when researching. Don't get me wrong, this is a powerful ebike for the price, but at only 60nm of torque, it seems like 1100watts that they rate it at seems like peak numbers.
@tuggiewest804 ай бұрын
@@zedified1082 This bike surprisingly can handle bridges, overpasses and hills. On my daily commute, up hill is no problem for this bike traveling at 15 mph on throttle alone because PAS is none existing going uphill.

I'm 6 ft. Tall, the way the frame is designed, it looks like it would b way 2 small 4 me unless I put the seat up really high. What's your opinion ? 🤔🤔🤔
@EbikeProducts4 ай бұрын
At 6ft, you should be able to ride it comfortably at it's top seat height, but depending on how you like to position yourself it is possible you'll want something that has a higher frame height. Someone 6'2" commented on their site that they recommended a longer seat post. I honestly don't think it would be a problem unless you have extra long legs and really want full leg extension when you pedal.

How would you transport this bike at 65 pounds?
@EbikeProducts4 ай бұрын
I have an open bed truck so I transport everything in the bed of the truck. At 65lbs, if I didn't have a truck, I'd get an e-bike rated car bike rack.
@tuggiewest806 ай бұрын
For beginners this bike is ok. The bike is easy to assemble took about an hour. I also built a front wheel 1000w motor for $400 which is more natural and comfortable to ride which this bike is no comparison to the built one. I dislike the PAS lag and only reach 26 mph. The built go 32 mph cause it's hacked. You covered most of it's issues. I've ridden over 500 miles so for with no issues however range is about 50 miles round trip and on my built bike 70 mile around because it's 20 pounds lighter than this bike. Plus the built bike ride more natural cause the gear isn't hampered by a motor being a regular bike without power.

Thanks for sharing! Very interesting stuff. If I have the time and money one day, I'd really like to test out DIY built front hub ebikes. Sounds like you're getting grear results (500miles and 50 miles round trip is awesome).

In ohio is it illegal to have a class 3 e-bike? That is what I have heard. Is it true?

I think it depends where you will use them. Velotric has a great blog post on Ohio law: www.velotricbike.com/blogs/story-landing/ohio-ebike-laws#:~:text=Class%203%20e%2Dbikes%20are,the%20use%20of%20e%2Dbikes. Be sure to check for any updates though as laws are changing all the time.

Metal fenders are much, much lighter than plastic ones. It is really surprising just how much heavier plastic fenders are than aluminum ones. Most of them aren't ABS plastic, they are different kind of plastic, plus they are thick. Metal fenders are very thin. But you cannot make really super thin plastic fenders or they would just break.
@EbikeProducts7 ай бұрын
Wow! Really?!? Thanks for the correction. I always thought the plastic fenders were lighter as some of the 26" fat tire ebikes that I've had to add them on myself seemed so light.

Plastic fenders don't rust. I live close to the beach, and the salt air eats everything.

I cannot recommend this bike, shipped to me with defective hub that resulted in speedo not working. Was told there is no warranty on the hub and wanted me to pay for a new one. I told them I would not pay for defective craftmanship not should I be paying for repairs straight out of the box. I will never purchase another bike from them.
