13:54 That is a effect pedal. They can be used to modify electronic audio signal between the instrument and a speaker to introduce post processing effects such as reverb, compression or most commonly the distortion used in rock / metal guitar playing in live situations. I don't remember seeing them used with a flute in real life but in theory any sort of instrument through a microphone will do, although the effects are usually fine tuned for use with specific instruments.

It might also be a looper, where you first play your harmonic track, then loop it while you play melody over top.

Our Community Band (Clearfield, Utah) has no audition required. We have as many as 12 flutes at rehearsals and usually have 8 or so at performances. Three also play piccolo! Fun video for flute players; thank you!

You should check out the score from the 2015 Man From U.N.C.L.E film by Daniel Pemberton, which features a flute soloist throughout most of the soundtrack!

That was both fun & funny 🥰. (And - if anyone cares for such a 'niche and possibly useless' piece of info 😆 - both recorder and flute are called "flet" in Polish language. Recorder = "flet prosty" = 'straight flute'. Flute = "flet poprzeczny" = 'transverse flute'. I had a hard time getting used to English word 'recorder' - it still reminds me of 'tape recorder' when I hear it! 😂)

Personally, I never played a flout in my life.... Look up Phil Keaggy playing "Salvation Army Band" on KZbin. One guitarist, one heck of a toybox. He uses a gizmo called a "delay pedal." Not easy to explain but it enables him to basically play along with himself in real time. I've seen him perform it live. I never thought of trying such a thing on flute....

The last one TRIED making it look right, but he did NOT do it right. I wish the people in the films would learn the fingering better for the instruments, they shall picture playing. I get distracted, by the wrong fingerings. (I, myself play recorders.)

Please react to Mo dao zu shi ( Chinese anime ) or the untamed ( which is the live action of mo dao zu shi ) flute moments. This drama is the reason that I started learning flute . Please react to it . The melodies are amazing, you will drown in it . ..
