Jason tried hard to let us appreciate the amazing sounds of these cars, but whoever did the sound editing felt the need to cover it all up with generic orchestral blats. Thank you for sharing this, and for remedying this issue in your Hagerty Revelations series where we get uncut audio ecstasy at the end of each video.

What is amazing is that every generation of the GT-R was legendary. They were all created by Nissan, who were always broke or near bankrupted. I don't care what do you think, I believe that the GT-R is the best sports car model ever made. Better than the 911, Corvette, Viper, NSX and literally everything. The R35 did go racing, and It was successful as its predecessors as well. In Super GT, it won 7 out of 9 races in its debut season. It's the most successful car with all time most wins, podiums and titles. It won the FIA GT championship in 2011. The biggest GT3 championship, the GT World Europe Endurance Cup in 2013 and 2015 as well. The GT-R is an all time classic for me.

R35 GT-R actually do race. 2009 was its first venture with the GT-R GT1, but that got VK56DE. Still, pretty competitive against the likes of MC12 and C6.R GT1. Then came the Nismo GT-R GT3 with the 'normal' VR38DETT. That competed since 2012 up until today in many GT3 races, winning Bathurst 12H and several other races along the way.

Great video, three of my all time favourite cars and they all look and sound amazing. The R35 won the Bathurst 12 hour in 2015 and was celebrated by the fans, unlike 1992 when the R32 last won Bathurst and the drivers were booed and had full cans of beer thrown at them.

Jesus how much does one of those Hakosuka's go for these days? A group of my High School mates were all Japanese car fanatics, mostly since here in Australia they were cheap, powerful and easy to mod, between them over the years they had a had Mazda FB RX-7, Nissan Skyline R32 GTS-T, R33 GTS-T, S13 Silvia, S15 Silvia, 300 ZX, Suzuki Mighty Boy (Imagine a Kei Car version of a Ute, it was great fun), a 1991 Mazda 929 (Mazda Flagship using the same platform as the Cosmo, seriously handsome & underrated car for VIP enthusiasts, seriously looked like a Japanese DB7), a Toyota Soarer (Another criminally underrated car with two insane engine options), a Subaru Liberty Spec B (The Adult's WRX, that 3.0L Boxer sounded TOTALLY unique and incredible, even different compared to Porsche Boxer Engines. And my best mate even had an honest to goodness AE86 in Panda colours, which he eventually cannibalised selling it for parts since bizarrely it was worth significantly more that way. Even back then my best mate would obsess over the old Prince cars and the Hakosuka GTR but for one is good condition the prices were huge, I can only imagine that now they're crazy.

Thanks for the automotive history lesson! I didn't know about the R32's track dominance. That puts its reputation into perspective for me. But the last segment's grip about Nissan not taking the R35 racing causes a little bit of confusion. In the recently released Gran Turismo film, the 'real race cars' that the sim drivers are trained on are Nissan GTRs. Viewers are left with the understanding the Nissan was competing in some actual race series with this car. Did they just fabricate this for the film to boost product placement?

"Take it racing" he says ....conveniently ignoring the SuperGT GT500 champion from 2011. The GT-R was raced. Just only where it was relevant and where it's strengths wouldn't vanish due to regulations. But I would definitely love to see a racing series that let's manufacturers do stuff their own way without mandating so much that all cars fall into the same concept as they'd be uncompetitive if not. And another voice for the "listen to this car" only to be bombed by music. Why would anyone think that'd be a good idea? Anyways, I'm rambling. Still enjoyed the video a lot and it was great fun.
