I love Jason Carl as a storyteller. His energy and skills are absolutely marvelous. Hugest respect to him and to the players. As much as I enjoy other great campaigns out there, L.A. by Night is an absolute masterpiece. I wish I could find GM half as skilled as Mr. Carl.

I feared they'd abandon the story. I wouldn't even blame them, given the circumstances. Jason is an excellent story teller and I, not being a native English speaker, made a bunch of notes listening to his flowery scene descriptions.

This is all wonderful news. LA By Night was one of my first real exposures to the World of Darkness; I came in as a PDX fan on the tail of the news about the publisher's purchase of the property, played Bloodlines 1 and then watched this. I now have much of the current WoD materials but still have yet to play the actual game (nor indeed any TTRPG). Hopefully I'll have chance to change that before long. One especial benefit I've taken from the series has been that watching it coincided with deciding to try to paint pictures, and this series has been the perfect companion for me in doing that. I can concentrate on the work while still listening without missing too much, or I can take a break and have something interesting to look at. Some people might be disappointed at the news that this is the last series, but I'm delighted because my main concern had always been that the story might not properly conclude; this is confirmation that it will. Much better that it finish conclusively with possibilities opened up for derivative works, than that it just fizzle out. It's right that the story should have a proper end.

Do you remember the episode that took place in Versailles in the beginning of the French revolution? At first I thought it would be stupid, but I was so wrong. Not exactly the dark ages, but the group proved they can do all sorts of settings. And I thought B. Dave's Gangrel character was super awesome there and to me personally, cooler than his main, Victor.

I completely agree with Jason. It was worth it to wait until they can return to the studio. It's just more intensive to roleplay that way.

As much as I wish it were not ending, all stories must, and this one has been epic af. Though this is the last season of this chronicle, I cannot wait to see what Mr. Carl has in store for us with his next story...the anticipation is monstrous!

I do hope we get similar productions of the World of Darkness lines. I remember a behind the scenes video where at least some of the people from LA by Night talked about playing Changeling the Dreaming years ago; it'd be great to see something like that, even as a one-shot.

LA by Night and Jason Carl’s storytelling is what really got me into Vampire the Masquerade and be a storyteller to my friends whom never played before. It took me a while to get used to Jason Carl's always very calm demeanour, but I really appreciate it by now. The deadpan delivery of the line "I'm very excited ..." really makes you wonder how on earth he would sound if he was bored. :-)

While Huddy does a great job recapping the episodes, I managed to find a time to rewatch them all in full (some of my favorite episodes I have watched several times and am still willing to return to them). I've found that due to Jason's masterful storytelling and improv and the talented and very likable cast, there is a great level of rewatchability to LABN.

I would LOVE an LABN supplement (like all the others, like the old Children of the Night, etc.). I plan to run the "New Blood" test starter for a group in the next month or so, and fully intend to replace the NPC "Markus" with "Victor" (as the printing error in that product reveals was the original intent--though I suspected it when I saw how good his "driver" was). I'd love to be able to have an actual "guide" to using LABN as a setting, as I've not GM'd WoD in 20+ years.

As much as I have enjoyed watching LA by night, I honestly hope it doesn't become canon. I say this for the simple reason of gameplay; due to the fact that Mr Carl had to homebrew a lot of the characters abilities (I'm thinking particularly of Eva's lightning powers and Kyoko's flame ability), they are massively OP for the new V5 setting, and not at all in keeping with the spirit of the newly nerfed Blood Sorcery discipline. These abilities very much belong to the OP V20 version of the Tremere.

Something seemed off with the VTMB2 from the start to me, and after they gave a boot to Mitsoda, I've lost all interest in it, to be honest. I am surprising myself by this, as I've been impatiently waiting for a second game ever since I played the original VTMB ten and so years ago, but somehow the studio made me become completely disinterested in it. .
