Gideon was a super compelling character for me and the most interesting in the early episodes And apparently people hate him but I think he’s a highlight of the show.

Gideon was much better than Rossi to me. I loved the first two seasons more than any of the others

People love the typical family character, Rossi was almost the same as Gideon at the beginning but then he changed, I imagine so that he would be more accepted, Gideon was weaker in mind, but more intelligent than Rossi, his serious, understanding, but at the same time isolated attitude I love it

"You think I'm stupid?" "I think you're an absolute moron." I don't think anything ever tops that comeback for the rest of the show.

Although he was a little unorthodox with some of his methods and seemed standoffish, he was actually quite brilliant at his job. I miss his character and while I understand the actor’s reason for leaving the show, I wish we got to see more of him before he died 🙁

why did he leaVe

@@lui1367 He felt the show was glorifying violence to much and didn't want to be involved anymore.

@@remhauck1577 From what I understood, it was that the show was getting darker. Not necessarily glorifying violence.

@@DmonHiropeople criticize his decision and I understand that because obviously the show is going to highlight dark topics and that’s the point. So it’s stupid to be surprised to some degree. But I also think we tend to forget how DARK season 2 was. Yes there’s darker episodes later on but they also get less realistic. Season 2 has child murderers, entire families dying in house fires, the whole Spencer being kidnapped thing, North Mammon, the pdf file/child trafficking episode, and so much more. It’s easy to see how someone might have sensed a trend. Also most of the scenarios aren’t so weird that they’re unlikely, they’re mostly pretty realistic things that could plausibly happen to anyone. Unlike later episodes like the doll episode or candle man episode or puppet episodes where yes it could happen but the concept is so ridiculous or niche that it’s pretty unlikely. And yes, I get the show isn’t glorifying those things, but it would probably take a toll on anyone’s mental health who’s exposing themselves to it that much. And yes at the time this show was considered pretty edgy for network TV, I assume. I mean, there is something to be said for tv and Hollywood desensitizing us to tragedy and horror, making us want more of the drama and the depravity, which we rationalize because we know it’s fake. While yes it is important for media like this to make people aware of bad people and certain conditions and highlight real issues, it’s also important as individuals to not over-indulge and to keep our minds focused on more positive, wholesome things as well.

gideon was irreplaceable. I love the show before and after but it was never the same

I love his quips, his deductive skills/reasoning, and how he just does things his own way which makes him seem bizarre to those around him. He's like if Reacher was an old grandpa.
