Well things exist for a reason. They fulfil a purpose. If you change something so much it no longer does that, then what's the point. having Jason kill a crew in space like aliens doesn't make sense. The point isn't to have Jason try his hat at different things. The point is kids being killed at a camp(or resort, or anywhere with a mix of kids and teens). usually with some relation to Jason's trauma as a kid. Jason's point is to kill those kids, usually in an area he spent his childhood in. But that doesn't mean that we need to see that happen 5 times in a row. So people do want the point of the franchise. But it's boring if they keep doing it(so often, in a row). The lesson is that they shouldn't run franchises into the ground. This doesn't reflect anything wrong with audiences.

There is just something about his look in 'Jason goes to hell' I've always loved. To bad we only get like 20 minutes screen time with him in the suit though. Barely seeing Jason pissed off the fans 30 years ago and they are still pissing off the fans today with the recent Halloween ends movie not having enough screen time for horror icon Micheal Myers. Will the studios ever learn? They should know by now what we want in our horror films. My recommendation for this October.....Skip Halloween ends and watch Terrifier 2 instead. Art the Clown puts over the hill and past his prime Michael Myers to shame this Halloween.

The comic series of Ash VS Freddy VS Jason explains this more and SOMEHOW makes it even MORE batshit crazy.

I believe the footage of Cummingham talking about the hockey mask is on the special features of the Jason X DVD.

The Evil Dead connection was further explained and explored in the comics "Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash" and "Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash: The Nightmare Warriors". Check them out! :)

This movie was interesting to say the least, Jason's design and the powers were cool but it sucks that Jason was only in the beginning and end also I love Wes Craven's New Nightmare, that movie was fantastic

When I first seen New Nightmare (in 1995 on home video), it legit terrified me for a week. I also seen Jason Goes to Hell around the same time, and it also scared the shit outta me. Granted I was 10 at the time, but I still was scared shitless.

New Nightmare is definitely in the top 3 for Elm Street with the other two being Dream Warriors and the original.

There were talks about Corey Feldman coming back to play Tommy Jarvis one more time, in a direct sequel to Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter, simply called "Friday the 13th: Jason vs Jarvis". Much like "Halloween" (2018) it was supposedly going to ignore everything after "The Final Chapter".
