Such an amazing build. The carving and woodworking is just stellar. I do wish the coloring had been a bit more subdued or transparent -- it seems a little ... I don't know ... painting on the side of a 70s-era conversion van, to me. But, that's a personal preference. There is no arguing against the quality of work. Again, just stellar.

@@Actually_Findus pronouncing it Oden is correct in any language, but spelling it that way is not correct in modern English. I’m pretty sure thousands of years ago it was written in runes. But if you write Oden instead of Odin in modern language it means something entirely different. I’m not trying to be the grammar police on KZbin. Thank you for the history.

Clearly a stunning instrument with the colours dividing opinion. I kind of see both sides of the division, but I think the colour scheme is growing on me. The grey stone/metal helmet, the wooden carving and the crows feathers. Bet it looks even better on the flesh. Fantastic build.

This guitar was possibly my favourite. Great sculpting. Up to the point of painting... While the paintjob in itself is good, something about it makes the whole thing look like a clay sculpture rather than a wooden sculpture.

Thanks! It was a risky move but I felt like it needed paint. I can see why some hate the paint but I personally don't regret the decision. I do have a carving idea for a video out of walnut that will not be painted.

I dont mean to be rude but I honestly dont know why this was praised as much as it is. Top notch building, carving work is really nice, and sounds good too, by no means is it a bad project but think the paint job lets this one is a seriously down with flat uninteresting colors. Quit frankly a two tone staining would have served it better. Good luck for Jason regardless.

Kind of answered yourself with that second sentence ;) All joking aside thanks for the feedback. Positive or negative it does help me grow in my abilities having that outside voice. I knew the paint would either be loved or hated but sometimes you just have to take that risk. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't.

@@JasonMakes I'll gladly double down on the compliments, the idea is good, the neck looks better than anything I can build, and it sounds and hat off to anyone willing to do detailed carving. It's always a matter of personal taste too. If you want to work on the painting skills, may I suggest including looking up airbrushing and other tips and tricks from miniature painters, plenty of them on the youtube and imitating realistic surfaces is something they are well versed in.

@@ydin9 The plan was to airbrush most of it but couldn't get it to work right after using primer so I just pulled out the brushes. Thanks for the tips I'll give them a look.

Gotta disagree with you about the paint, the flesh tones are spot on, and the whole thing looks as if it's alive. (Too alive, I swear he's staring at me ;) ) that takes some skill! Nothing is garish 0r 0ver done, the color scheme is complimentary and appropriate, I'm sure that's talent, not mere technique, the whole build is inspired and carefully done. Different strokes as they say, but IMO he nailed it, this build was sick.
