My friends have been abused and so has my girlfriend especially when she was a little girl. I HATE not dislike HATE anyone who abuses their child. I've heard all of the stories; they have a ruined sex life, poor relationship, and the worst of all is the mother died in labor, well, guess what...THAT DOESNT GIVE YOU THE RIGHT TO ABUSE THEIR KID, THEY DIDN'T ASK TO BE BORN don't take it out on the children. What pisses me off the most is when you tell people and they don't listen. One of my foster mothers used to back hand me and two four and seven year old little boys, and when I tried to tell my case worker he acted all affronted and said how the woman was an angel for taking in said boys because they were brothers and the little one had chest problems and I was like,'gee, she hits him in the chest an awful lot for an angel.' Honestly I just think that the people who don't listen about it are just as bad as the abusers.

Anna Harris I am so Sorry my daughter's were abducted by their father.my daughter told me about abuse at the hands of complete strangers,father.I reported statements word 4 word to cws/cps.They told me that " ALL "mothers" make up MOLESTATION. Next I was told 2 call SHERIFF'S dept. for interview of my daughter ,but,instead wolf pack gang of woman deputies (4-5) walked into our home.They took my daughter's gave 2 cws.Cws gave them to abusive foster monster's.The people who foster/adopt are the MOST DISGUSTING PEOPLE. I WOULD NOT GIVE MOST OF THEM A DOG ,LET ALONE MY PRECIOUS innocent DAUGHTER'S. In fact if I had done any of their Criminal Child i would have recieved a death sentence every week.All of the Criminal abuse fosters/adopters get away with EVERY BIT OF IT. COMMUNITY CARE LICENSING LOOKS THE OTHER WAY. CWS, and LICENSING IGNORES MOLESTATION OF CHILDRE BY FOSTERS 2 ! If i had known about this Child Trafficing business aka FORCED ADOPTION I WOULD HAVE NEVER BEGGED GOD FOR CHILDREN .TY 😥

Usually this song upsets me just because of the fact of what it's about. It doesn't upset me as in make me angry; it makes me sad. However, there is one bit that absolutely fills me with grief. the part of the song that goes "Because there's nothing anyone would do." and it just makes me realize how corrupted society really is. "There's nothing anyone WOULD do" not could. Meaning something could have been done but it wasn't.

There is something you might realize when you get wiser and that is its easy to be a moral high horse. Its easy to say society is corrupt but what gives you the right to say that? Have you adopted or fostered cared a child? probably not. Im all for everyone wanting to end child abuse, but the way to do isnt to protest the horrors of it on youtube or social media for moral virtue. You wanna ended it go take action. I can almost guarantee you dont based on your comment because I have yet to hear anyone that foster cares or adopts(american children10+) say such things. You get a different perspective on the world when you live a life like that. One that isnt in a social echo chamber of people patting themselves on the back for doing nothing.

Mine names Alyssa, and when I was little my mom abused me, she held me upside down and repeatedly smacked my back, and lower areas. The bruising was really bad, and she actually hit my hard enough my kidneys bled a little. I was two or three when it happened, now I'm 15 and living with my father, and sadly my mother did not go to prison for what she did.

The sad part is that if she had done that to an adult, she would have definitely been convicted of assault and done time in prison. People get much lighter punishments (and sometimes no punishment at all) for assaulting defenseless children...and even their own children, at that. It's sickening. I'm so sorry that happened to you when you were little, and I hope your dad is a lot kinder to you and is a much better parent than your mom was.

I was abused as a child so every time I hear this song it reminds me of how I was beaten by my drunk father in his rage. But what makes me cry is how I was lucky to have gotten out of that situation but yet so many children arnt as lucky. The part where it says "Alyssa lies with Jesus, because there's nothing anyone would do" makes the tears start because it reminds me that children are dying from the same thing I experienced. I pray for the abused children everywhere.

My name is Alyssa, and I was physically abused by my step dad from the age of 6 till 16. I would go to school and lie to everyone when they asked about my bruises. The only difference between my life and this song is that I survived. If someone comes to you for help, do something about it. You can help, and you could save a life

Amen! I'm glad you got through it. Hate that you went through it but glad you came out the other side. It makes me so angry and sad to think about this type of stuff. Kids are amazing and so innocent and they don't deserve to go through that! It breaks my heart thinking about what goes through a child's mind during abuse like this. In this song for instance I just want to hug her and protect her and give her a good life. I guess that's basic humanity in me.

Never fails, I can make it to the part where he decides what to do then the tears start falling and I can't sing along anymore. This song reminds me of my mother, no matter how much everyone supported her she stayed with her abusers. Her ex husband used to put his hands on us both. I saved my mother's life from him when I was just 9 years old. I've forgiven him for the abuse now that I understand addiction. Years after my mother left him, she got with another abuser. Eventually, I stopped asking about the bruises because I knew she'd just lie, it broke me clear to the core. She's finally made some good decisions now though, she's married to an excellent man and wonderful dad to my little brothers. I actually did a "Concrete Angel" cover because of this, it's not perfect but after crying in 3 previous recordings I decided it was good enough.

@degenerate199110 жыл бұрын
My abusive mother was a Marine, so maybe you'll understand better than most what that entails. I can't listen to this song without bawling because my sister and I are lucky to have survived our upbringing. Mother treated us like we were "the enemy". Our stepfather was a Force Recon veteran and she kicked HIS ass, because she had crazy on her side. We were just kids... This song makes me bawl like a baby for my sisters that I couldn't protect. I hear the words and see their faces, their bodies covered in bruises and I hear their terrified screaming. I feel more guilt than words can convey that I didn't die for them, like I don't deserve to have survived.

I hate when people joke about being abused just for attention. I've been abused by my mother's boyfriend for over 14 years. I finally told somebody, & now I haven't seen them in almost 8 months. Granted, it was & still is a hard thing to overcome, it was well worth it. Abuse hurts physically & mentally. It's very hard to tell somebody knowing there's a huge chance they won't believe you, but it's definitely worth it. My life's changed completely, & I'm grateful for the breath I breath everyday.

Damn to deep parts of hell anyone who would abuse a child. What twisted person is so weak they have to take out there aggression out on someone much smaller than them? Children count on us to protect them and set examples. Yet this happens all the time. It makes me cry just knowing that there are children out there being beaten and no one is helping them.

Been there myself. It is hard sometimes but if you can remember you are made of more strength than what they say you are, nothing they say or do can take that away from you. Hope things get better for you.

This song always makes me teary eyed. My best friend was abused from the day her mother brought her home I was seven when she died. Her father came home drunk and she died from severe brain trama because he beat her head into the wall so many times. I still can't find the faith to forgive him. This song has so much meaning whether you know someone who's been abused or not.

My little sister was called Alyssa. She's not with us anymore, but we both used to face abuse every single day. Our father would come home drunk every night and let his anger out on us. God bless you, sis

hey! who you calling a loser? that's rude the girl is right this song is very touching. you don't need to be a bully that's just rude! you wouldn't want to be called a loser. don't hurt other people if you don't want that done to you. thats uncalled for.

Every time i hear this song it makes me sad because i was abused, i got out just last year and im glad i did. No one seemed to believe me but i know what happend and so does the victim. I don't need everyone else to believe me. I lied everyday just like Alyssa but i finally realized that there are people out there to help and that's what i did. my heart goes out to anyone who might be facing the same situation. Don't be afraid to speak up.♥♥

yes I was abused by my ex step dad Bruce and almost died one day when my mom was at work and he pissed me down our carpet stairs, I hit my head to hard and I passed out, when I woke up I was in my bed and my dog lily was at the end of my bed, I went downstairs and asked my adopted grandma what happened and she said that she came home to me unconscious at the bottom of the stairs and lily was growling at Bruce Everytime he tried to come near me and I noticed that Bruce had I bite mark from lily on his leg, I realized that my dog lily protected me after I fell from Bruce pushing me. And so I guess the only reason I am alive today is thanks to my dog lily. I sadly don't have her anymore because I had to give her away

I used to listen to this song when I was little on the radio. I was so young, I didn't understand what she was talking about. What were the lies about? I just listened to this song today, for the first time in years... now I have tears streaming down my face. I feel stupid. God...what a beautifully tragic song. :(

@mickeythevampire-catthing84118 жыл бұрын
+john smith What could happen with abuse allegations is finding "nothing" from investigation. There would be an investigation, but because it's so difficult to know who to believe ("Is the child lying/exaggerating for attention," "Is/Are the parent(s) covering up"), and there are many legal procedures to go through, more often than not, nothing is done to remove the child from that type of home. Likely what he means by, "There's nothing anyone would do."
