Air up is a clear scam. Super expensive, even with codes and as every single person who wasn’t payed said, it’s disgusting and just not drinkable. Danny, I know you need sponsors to keep doing what you’re doing. Just saying it’s not a good thing to spend your money on. Lil edit: Just want to say, no offence Danny. I really disagree with letting airup sponsor you butnit’s your channel. If there isn’t another option, yeah, get some extra money for the channel, but if you can get a different sponsor, it would very much restore a lot of faith in your channel. It of course could be a deal where you’re required to make a certain amount of sponsored videos. If so, I feel sorry for you mate. If you really want to be back to how you were before this started, don’t sign into any more deals from them. I’ve skimmed through the comments and saw that people all agree. Please, do the right thing, the next time you can. - all of Greg

The part that's most frustrating to me (and which danny hits on at the end of this video) is when you get a lot of money....just fucking save some of the money! How short sighted do you have to be to just start living as if you'll always have an income like that? If you have that much, just take a chunk of it and stick it in a high yield savings or index funds or some shit and leave it there and then you will always have money! It's so annoying to be someone who works for a living and diligently saves for the future and to see these people who make millions and then go "oh whoops I spent it all and have no income now, poor me"

For example, the words that Daisy said in the book was what Zelda said after she gave birth to their daughter. "I hope she's beautiful and silly, a beautiful little fool," Apparently they had a lot of arguments over their "shared autobiographical material" because a lot of Scott's works were well, based on his irl life. Zelda wrote a book, "Save Me the Waltz" that was also based on her irl life. IIRC, they had an argument over it. Also, something Zelda jokingly said in an interview: "It seems to me that on one page I recognized a portion of an old diary of mine which mysteriously disappeared shortly after my marriage, and, also, scraps of letters which, though considerably edited, sound to me vaguely familiar. In fact, Mr. Fitzgerald (I believe that is how he spells his name) seems to believe that plagiarism begins at home.” so take that how you will. I feel like people forget two key things when they say "why doesn't (insert now-irrelevant influencer) get a normal job?" One, most regular jobs nowadays will google you during the hiring process to see if anything of concern might come up. Jason Nash obviously has a plethora of stuff about him out on the internet, and even if it's all pretty harmless, he was never being filmed in one of David's vlogs thinking "man I should probably say something that won't set off any red flags for the regional hiring manager at jiffy lube." It's not a guarentee that his internet presence would be a dealbreaker, but it probably wouldn't help. (But if he was doing something like doordash it probably wouldn't matter, to be fair.) The other thing is that he's clearly spent like 2 decades building a career for himself in the entertainment industry, pivoting careers entirely to real estate or whatever would basically mean having to start back at zero for career building and connections, at entry level positions and pay, which is obviously pretty demoralizing, especially at his age. Danny brings up a good point though that having an internet presence CAN net you jobs, but it's likely they'll be less glamorous and autonomous than being a normal influencer. He doesn't need to leave the entertainment industry and ignore all these connections he's built, but, like Danny said, he needs to be okay with an adjustment in lifestyle in order to get back to having a stable income. Otherwise, he's gonna have to keep embarassing himself on tiktok live.
@plumbunnii10 ай бұрын
I guess I still struggle to give Jason sympathy though due to seeing a lot of older people now having to go back to work to make ends meet. Don't get me wrong, I can see how that's demoralizing but to the average individual it's almost expected to never retire anymore.
@matthewdekker606410 ай бұрын
@@plumbunnii Yes, for him it's demoralizing, while for the rest of us it's just Tuesday. It's our entire life. I'm sure he had enough money to straight-up retire on at one point, but he blew it all on expensive unnecessary shit, and now he's regretting it. No reason to feel bad for him when he's entirely done this to himself (and perhaps David helped a bit by not giving him such a large platform anymore). Also, I think people have done the math on these TikTok competitions, and while they're not super well-paying, they're also not nothing. You can make a few grand or so in one stream - maybe that's only on the best days, while the rest of the time it's less, but still, even a few hundred is nothing to scoff at - you could theoretically just do one or two streams every day and make at least a few hundred bucks on each one. On the one hand, it's pathetic, but I'd also say it's pretty smart, cuz you're barely having to put in any effort to make a somewhat decent amount of money.
@seigeengine10 ай бұрын
He also probably just can't make it work on lower pay. They live in LA FFS. Their standard of living seems quite high. He's divorced and has kids too, so, like, what happens there if he moves out of LA? Who has custody? Does he just not get to see his kids much then? Who knows?
@tallsockclown10 ай бұрын
I mostly agree with you here, but the demoralizing aspect of doing something at entry level at that age is just sort of a reality for most folks nowadays. It'd only really be weird for him because he might get recognized as "guy from vine", "Trisha Paytas's ex" or former vlog squad member which isn't really an average person his age's worry.
@alannaleavitt705010 ай бұрын
I’ve been thinking the job search and lack of other skills has been the no brainer answer since the beginning. Obviously he wants to stay where he can get easy money instead of having to put in effort to build a new skill set and find a regular job. Also he has been pretty controversial at times especially with his association with David and Trisha, he’d be a huge liability for a regular company to hire. I don’t really have sympathy for the guy either but definitely understand why he’d rather embarrass himself on tiktok

It’s exactly what Daniel said, Jason Nash shouldn’t have placed all of his relevancy on David, and to be fair he only needs all this bc he spends exorbitant amounts of money and needs to continue to fund this current lifestyle

pride. This nash guy clearly looks down on normal jobs. Plus he cant sustain his current lifestyle, and I think sometimes fallen youtubers get obbsessed with regaining relevancy

he would have to leave LA and start a new humble life and that's "beneath him" retail pays 20hr , for 20$ in LA you're getting a sandwich. he has the means to uproot and start over but his thirst for relevancy is too deep

I’m sure he couldn’t afford his house or car on a retail wage. If you make a lot of money you almost always experience lifestyle creep- you buy a nicer house, a nicer car, you put your kids in private school, you get plastic surgery or go on vacation more. It’s hard to uproot your life and downsize, and it sucks for your family. And especially if you’re an influencer whose career depends on looking wealthy and having fun, a lot of that stuff can be financed through debt. It could be that he has debts to pay off in addition to whatever normal expenses he has. Plenty of people would prefer to embarrass themselves online for enough money.

Seeing he had a history of acting and stand up, I do feel for him. A lot of actors have a hard time once work slows down for them. A few years ago an actor from the 90s went viral because he was working at a grocery store. But he had no shame about it. Acting didn’t work out anymore so he got a job.

It always baffles me how the most uninteresting, un-passionate, cookie cutter people get famous. This isn’t necessarily specifically about Jason but like a huge population of influencers are just the most boring people who do the exact same things and get paid millions for it. Then on the other hand there’s influencers who just seem to hate what they do like Jason, and the dobre brothers. The dobre brothers constantly look like they’re clocking in for another unpaid 24 hour shift at the steel mill. I simply don’t understand the people who can watch creators that clearly have zero passion and enjoy their content because if the person making it isn’t enjoying it then how am I supposed to enjoy watching???
@BloodGangJohnWayne10 ай бұрын
There are so many influencers/streamers who have no skill or personality getting absurdly rich. I don't get it. Who are these people watching all day? It will be interesting to see what they do when streaming dries up. I don't think it's a sustainable career.

Advertising It's the reason why most big budget mainstream media is sorta bland. Because any content that is monetized is essentially a billboard. When you get the big spenders in ads they are large corporations filled with several different teams office workers. Most of whom never created anything in their lives and are obsessed with the appearance of their brand. Who's only desire is generating more profit. So rich influencers are gonna be selected because they capture people's attention and match a brand's image not if they are interesting people.

The last points you made really hit home as the reason that I'm still watching and rewatching your videos after all these years (since you transitioned to YT from Vine!). It's that, despite the rampant success of your channel, you've maintained a level of relatability and sincerity that most influencers throw away after their first check comes in. Thanks for that!
