I was only 18 then it’s been a hard long struggle every since with floods, droughts, and cheap grain prices with higher input costs. The worst of it was losing my best friend and mentor to cancer in 2015 I miss you dad every day! God bless the American Farmer.

It's been a long while since I last heard this song, but it (and Fly Over States) just resonates with me right more now than ever. It makes me rethink me being able to visit a friend of the family's farm every year when I was a kid (whose house was painted purple no less) from just a nice road trip to a LUXURY due to with all the stuff I got to do at that farm (such as ride in the John Deere combine). While I never will get to thank Roger Howe and his daughter Tama for letting us do such due to the former passing away several years ago and having gotten out touch with the latter even after attending the funeral, I am nonetheless in tears right now. While I've lived in the city almost my entire life, I'm still thankful for having been born and raised in the US state of Iowa, which is one of the main producers for beef, pork, chicken, corn, and dairy product for the US. Without farms, there's no cheeseburgers, pork ribs, fried chicken, eggs, or steak. It also means no chocolate milk, icecream, custard, donuts, croissants, and most importantly to many of you, NO BACON (though personally I prefer ham & cheese sandwiches). So the next time you enjoy your meat or baked good of choice, please, thank your farmers, they are as deserving of a little time and/or a personal thank you as much as the soldiers who put their lives on the line to keep to you safe are.

Most modern country is junk, but this song has soul about American pride in agriculture. No doubt my favorite song ever.

My family had to sell the last one in the family about 10yrs ago, now I'm lost, my entire happiness was this, I thought I never miss the feeling of being put through the ringer as much as do, trades work is good but nothing beats being up on that damn old Ford tractor. Not to mention always fighting with the oil leaks, still remember what everyone said, was hoping it was gonna get passed to me but I was always told it'll only get worse from here, think it's hard and bad now you haven't seen the worst to come. I honestly didn't care, I wanted it, I wanted the challenge. The respect I have for farmers still working is so deep I couldn't know where begin my thanks for everything so I'll simply say this. Thank you for taking care of my family.

@JassonAldeanmusic love that Jason Aldean is teaming up with ( us vets from 911,hero) toby keith, coming back from the " almost dead" but not gone, nor forgotten, as we in the military,( those who had any sense, who served after 911, and other wars) in a small town, and in the military, we take care of business,of our own.the many great inspirational songs of Toby's, ( all American, American oldier) and Jason's many great songs about hard working people across the usa who never had anything hand3d to them, unlike the gen z,who expect respect, not earned, everything handed to them, ,can't handle adversity,criticism, or hard work.too much radicalization,ignorance ( like libs, dems supporting hamas terrorists, in congress,we need to send them to iran,see how much they will support hamas then when they are thrown in iranian prisons,tortured

Such a tremendous metaphor for all of us who still work for a living. Every day, we climb up on that tractor and go another round. Whether it's delivering another package, grading another stack of papers, or talking to another customer, all of us Americans are pulling them plows across the ground . . . and sending up another prayer while we're at it. God bless us, everyone!

The current dairy crisis in the U.S. makes this song ring home. I have watched all the dairy farms in my city in Western MA close and am both honored and saddened to say that I helped the last dairy farmers in my city with hay and some other chores as a kid. If nothing is done to change the situation the landscape of rural America will tragically change forever

The first song I heard of Jason's. I've been a fan ever since. When I was 3 years old I was in the backseat while my mom was driving and my grandmother was in the passenger seat and I sang this song over and over again constantly for the 20 mile drive back home. Now I'm 17 and a senior in high school. My grandmother's not around anymore to see me graduate high school like she always hoped she would be, but I still like to listen to this every now and then and reminisce.

This song always makes me cry, and listening to the tune also makes me feel guilty for not appreciating the hard work and back-breaking labor that went into the organic produce I just procured from Whole Foods. Oh, and let's not forget the ditty gives me the urge to break out my checkbook and make a sizable donation to the FFA!
@jorrogboe11 жыл бұрын
The FFA is just a bunch of whiny bastards who learn to speak eloquently or write a good essay these days. They learn nothing of what real farming is.
