I have 4 male German Rottweilers and some people are afraid to come in my house. If it's someone they know and I'm comfortable with them, they're fine; they'll even let you pet them. If it's, for example, a plumber, they won't growl at them or anything, but they will be in a distance watching them. They're fine with people they don't know coming up and petting them when I take them out for walks, etc. (not very many people do), but if they don't know you and you're in their house, they will growl and show their teeth at someone if they tried to pet them. They let you know that you can do what you need to do in the house, but they are not your friend! I can control my dogs. I call them off when they start going crazy when a repair man or someone arrives and I tell the person to ignore the dogs and don't try to pet them! They are very good at sensing if someone is a bad person too. If my dogs are okay with you, then I'm okay with you!

I agree also people making direct eye contact with my dog. That drives me nuts. It's a good way to be bitten. I've had people do that, and I will physically go between my dog and that person and tell them to stop confronting my dog.

Confronting your dog? Get your dog under control. You're the type of person I'd confront, seems like you need it. I was at a friend's house one day. His douchebag buddy came over with his douchebag dog. The dog bit me for no reason. Instead of being embarrassed and apologizing, he blamed it on me. I slapped the shit out of him and his dog. Sounds like you are a similar douchebag.

This was a great video!! I know someone, won’t mention any names, but the dog is so horrible!! Everytime I see this dog I’m scratched, jumped on, shoes bitten ON me!! It’s so important to train right from the start. This person created his own monster! I LOVE dogs I have them, but this dog I run the other way, when I see him

How do you get them to not pee of excitement when they see you again after not seeing you for a few hours? I follow the whole ignore him and just take him outside before greeting him but at times he still does pee a bit especially with my kids. He’s turning 4months tomorrow.

I have couple of questions. My son bought this puppy at a Walmart parking lot. The seller said the puppy does not like cages. Because the pup got his foot caught. As they were putting him in the cage. The pup is scared to death of the cage. And another problem is the puppy tore up my couch. He has anxiety issues. when I leave the house. Love your channel.

I often say we don't train the dogs, we train the owner. Consistent training is very important. You can recover.

Lost our 4 year old boxer a few months ago. We miss him so much. Watching this video, makes me miss the puppyperiod where the training was so vital. Being consistent. Gotta admit there were days that werent always easy. But being consistent and making our dog understand his/hers role in the family, made our foundation stronger. Hey guys loved this video!!!! Got me thinking I know people show their love and appreciation to you two for sharing your experiences and knowledge I just needed to highlight that for me and I'm sure most others your ability to do so not by 'schooling' others but by having the discussions is everything!!!! Lol my roommate laughs at me often finding me talking to my TV lol... sharing laughs and frustrations fears and tears ♥️ over the last couple yrs your family and journey ... especially throughout lockdowns and social distancing times ... i just really need to thank you for being you and I truly hope that you know what youve come to mean to many!! ... apparently I'm not the only one here that you've had an impact on which Nova let me know today lol... at first I thought it was Bruce waking up just long enough to connect with Cara until i realized that didn't make sense bc she didn't wake until right after Bruce had... seemingly for the same reason but in being unable to make the connection it had stressed her ... hence the rewind lol. Rewatching I understood so was able to destress her but ended up overwhelmed in my love for and pride in her over the interaction which ended up leaving me laughing while tears flowed as she sprawled across my lap making herself the perfect living breathing weighted blanket lol the irony in the moment priceless as I clued into the dominoes from what woke Bruce straight through to nova without skipping a heart beat using her training to help me manage my emotions which were a reaction to hers over yours lol so I promised her I'd comment sending our strength and love and to let you know you're in our thoughts ❤️ ♥️ Much love and mad respect ❤️❤️ Corey Family!!

Whenever i train my dogs i do manners first with a little bit of obedience then when they are a year old a focus strongly on obedience as i want a dog who is extremely well mannered and of course obedient lol

I was having surgery last week and a Ukrainian gal who came to the States was going to care for me during and post surgery. A day before the surgery the gal and her American Sponsor came over to get more detailed instructions so the Sponsor could interpret any details to my gal. My gal (let’s call her Anna) has been to the house many times before and my Mac LOVES Anna and always lays his head in her lap. Anna’s sponsor was afraid and came in the house with trepidation. She also was very boisterous and demonstrative on top of her fear of Mac. Anyways as they were leaving the Sponsor was putting on her coat and as she was putting her arm in her coat sleeve Mac took it as she was sticking out her arm to hit Anna on the head…in a blink of an eye Mac lounged and tagged the Sponsor in the arm. 😢 Fortunately she was wearing a thick down coat, but it was scary. Now Anna’s Sponsor won’t let her come to my house anymore and Anna is afraid of Mac too even though she knows Mac loves her. I know Mac is very protective and was protecting Anna. But also like you mentioned the energy of the Sponsor was tedious to begin with. I always tell new people when they come over the old Cesar Milan adage, “ No Touch, No Talk, No Eye contact” and let the dog come to you on his own terms and get to know you before you interact with him. But I’ve also found that when one does tell a new comer the Milan Addage NT NT NEC that that alone puts the fear of God in them from the start. Anyways I lost my surgery helper and worse my best friend who now treats as if he was a rattlesnake. What am I to do….keep him locked up when people come over?

Hey Jason for years I have been watching your videos I gratefully appreciate what you do as a person and a dog owner I believe you truly have helped more people than you can count but I do have a question for you if you happen to see this. how when you have a puppy and you call them over start training them to not barrel into you at full speed or is that just a consequence to be nocked into the dirt with a big dog. is there any way/trainings that prevents them from being to excited in the moment or if they just have the zoomys to not be run over like a freight train to a car.

when I first met my partner's Cane Corso, it barked at me, then followed his mother over to me. This dog has never been socialized as it hates going for walks, plus not a lot of people go to their house, mainly because of the dog. When his mother hugged me, he came right up to me, and let me pat him. Then he put his nose up my skirt lol. It's a very stealthy dog, and I never know when it's right behind us. I won't go anywhere unless my partner's there, because it does still bark. It usually goes around to wherever I've been to get my scent. But last time I was there, I got them to lock him up whenever I had to leave the room, because you can't really know what they will do. He ran, or strode fast towards me a few times the first time I went there. Sometimes he barked, sometimes he didn't, but his tail was wagging each time. He is my partner's dog, but is always with his mother. I told them it's just gonna take baby steps, because as I said, he is not used to people coming into the house. He watched me like a Hawk the first time, and looked for any chance to come near me, and I don't think I'm showing fear so much, but just being very cautious. Hopefully he will end up being ok with me there, even though that could take a very long time
