Bruce and Justice are 2 of the most beautiful dogs I've ever seen. People are just jealous if they have to put them down that you have the get up and go with them all the time. That's why they are so well behaved. Hope you feel better with the kidney stones.

Weather I had horses, dogs, or birds,I have always had 2. I believe they need their own kind for enrichment. And with my cockatoos, it took me a full year to socialize them. The first year my male tried to kill my female. But with consistency, love and a lot of work, they became best buddies. I am like you, militant. And my animals are my family as much as my kids. It also helped make my children into the incredible adults they are.

As much as he has a good temperament, at a certain age dogs will try to challenge or test everyone's place,he will try to dominate Bruce,Jason and Kiara..he will try to be alpha..it happens to all dogs ...no matter the temperament, and since he's a male the dominance will be more... meaning he will try harder to try and be ALPHA..it's just reality

I would not have gotten 2 males. You will eventually run into dominance issues. Even with great training u may not be successful. Once those 2 fight it will be game on from then on and u will never be able to leave them alone without supervision. They may need to be permanent separated after that or re-home one of them. This is all true and anyone who disagrees is either naive or uninformed

@@keanajanaepalmer4142 yes. I have a European male doberman. When i bought my cane Corso i made sure i bought a female just to prevent any future issues. I would have preferred another male but i have seen things go south one to many times. It wasn't meant to be disrespectful when i commented because im sure he knows the potential for things to turn out badly. I wish him the best of luck

The problem you explained at 7:30ish is something I've worked with my dog and his best friend whos a rottweiler. I get both of their attention, get them to lay down or sit'n'stay. And do basic recall with their names. Last Sunday was the first time they waited for their name to be called with the command. IF they "fail" they don't get a treat. But they always get cuddles, something that also might have helped was a very-very soft verbal correction "ah-ah" (could be counterproductive if timed wrong or made too sternly) But I seemed to have timed it super perfect and it worked. And when they succeed they get jackpot treats and love. And I've done this exercise maybe a total of 4-6 times. one every Sunday for a couple of weeks. (the dogs are 4 and 5 years old). I've also done distance training with them. What I mean by this, and for people who don't know what or how to level up the dog's training with. Is to level up sit, down, wait, stay or even bunny is to Teach the dog to perform the commands from a distance where the dog is at. Some people don't level up the training and don't see it as a fun project or interaction with the dog. How to start, is to give a command and correct it if the dog starts going to you verbally, praise and reward. Usually, the dog makes the assumption that the sitting command should be in front or near you, not where the dog is, which is the "level up". It also helps to level up name training, The command "name" means to "look at me", NOT "come to me". Say name throw a piece of a treat to the dog. Though usually, this comes naturally to the dog. (This is how I did it with my pup, tho he had mastered wait before so he kinda knew that if I give a command and he follows up, he gets treaty treat).

Great video Jason! Was wowwed by JJ's recall. Very impressive. Our 11 week old Corso recalls great from a sit and stay, but not with distraction... yet. Total understand what you mean about both dogs obeying commands when you're only talking to one. We have the same issue with our 9rd old Lhasa Apso. It's good on the one hand, as it helps her teach the puppy what he should be doing, but meal times and threshold manners are confusing!

yes I'm at the same point with my training, trying to get one dog to respond to my command without the other. Opposite for me tho, my older one is better when I tell her to stay and the little one to do something. I find it easiest inside when I can give her the bed and then stay command. having a second person is a great idea, thanks for the tip Jason!

I can whistle rather loud which i use as recall for my dogs. Big plot of land (2 acres all fenced in) so if i whistle they all come running from the gates or the back of the land without needing to say a name. Took a while to get them to understand but makes things simpler.

My puppies is not great when he is off leash and no treats involved . He is 16 weeks today and a bit under the weather. Recall here on leash 6’ is very good. Again 16 weeks old. I was in Cicero, NY last Saturday. I have a black Corso from Chuck at Marino Cane Corso.

Have a question... How did you deal with the humping during the 8/9 months old period? My puppy sleeps with me, he recently out grew his 42" crate that was in the bed, but kept the kong pad on the bed. Every night it's a hump-a-thon for about 15 minutes or till he gets tired.
