Thanks for sharing, I will certainly endeavour to challenge myself to be a better modeller, the kits that you use I find difficult to get hold of in the UK, so I'm going to try and create my own kits influenced on structures near to me in the north east of England, including my home town of Darlington. I do love the effect with the old signs especially on the walls, fantastic video a real inspiration. Toot-toot 🚂

Inspirational as ever Jason, and thank you. I so want to get into some of these craftsman kits, but am desperate for a UK distributor for the likes of Bar Mills. By the time you add shipping and import duty, a $40 kit turns into a $100 kit...

Great work again Jason. Those Ammo paints, shaders and other items seem to make the weathering pop out more. With the wood not warping using the ammo items do you see yourself using this technique more then using a acrylic and water stain? Thank you for all the inspiration you have provided these past few years.
@JasonJensenTrains4 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much Kurt!!! Yes I plan on using the Ammo more than the acrylics. I do want to try Hunterline stains which is an alcohol based stain. Thanks for watching and happy modeling!!!

Hi Jason, you make amazing buildings. I love them. I found your Pepsi sign very interesting. That is a highlight in the house. I'm doing a model railway for a primary school with a friend. A long project !! I found a way to put up signs or graffiti. You look for a suitable template on the Internet, print it mirrored on 80 g paper and then apply it to the building with Photo Transfer potch (mod potch). I paint white areas on the model beforehand. You can use that for anything that is painted on walls and surfaces. It's a different way than yours and can be used especially for small signs. If you like I can send you a link to it.

Thank you so much!!! I'll have to try your technique. Thanks for the tip! Happy modeling!!!

Did you plan out the whole design before you started to put the models together or was it a go by the feel kind of way?. I am really interested in the process , especially the thinking behind it , another quick question ,do you write short stories for particular houses or set pieces? , all the pieces you have done feels like they have an interesting back story.I once heard from a great artist that micro composition is a gem of a skill to posses, with your sets I feel as if you have mastered the art of micro composition.
@JasonJensenTrains3 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much for watching!!! I try to plan ahead and some times even do a drawing before I start. I never come up with a story for my structures but I definitely want them to look like they have a back story.

Jason, was that 1/8" "beadboard"? Is that what it is called? Where can I get wood like that online? Also, how did you accomplish the peeling paint effect on it? Great work! Thanks for your videos!

Jason, you mentioned that the boards from Fosscale kits warp if you give them a water-acrylic based wash. Do you have any advice what can be done to avoid warping if you do want to us a water based wash?
