9:26 in the movie they (spoiler alert) *do* end up both getting the procedure done!! However, a lot of the movie takes place during the procedure of joel (main guy) and it’s like him in the process, figuring out that he actually wants to get out “of this loop” (lol song reference) - they do end up still finding each other tho, even after both procedures are done. Honestly highly recommend it’s such a good movie

also the double meaning in we cant be friends, shes addressing both her past relationship and the general public, (ie: "cling to your papers and pens, wait until you like me again.) if you break down the lyrics they almost feel like a bridge to yes, and? (which explains them coming after one another, besides them being the two singles) like for example "My tongue is sacred, I speak upon what I like" in yes, and? extends in the lyrics "Me and my truth, we sit in silence" + "I don't wanna argue, but I don't wanna bite my tounge..." also "Be your own fucking best friend" and "So for now, it's only me And maybe that's all I need." Long ass comment my bad og, but its really interesting the song can be interpreted in multiple ways while also completing a set story! Plus the way she starts the album asking the question about how she can tell if shes in the right relationship and ends in with her nonna answering the question + her laugh.

I had some observations while listening to eternal sunshine that were nice to pick out: • The opening whoosh sound of Intro (end of the world) transitions from the end whoosh of main thing(the final song of the positions era) and sounds like a more distorted version of it too •In Bye, when she sings “this ain’t the first time I’ve been hostage to these tears” tears can sound like “demons” as if it’s a reference to positions’ shut up, when she says “all them demons helped me see shit differently” (a huge reach I know) •don’t wanna break up again sonically has a eery vibe, especially the bridge and kinda starts the trend for the rest of the album especially in imperfect for you when she goes into a minor key in the hook •I noticed the last 2 seconds of eternal sunshine (the song) perfectly sounds like the beginning of You are in Love by Taylor Swift which was nice to crossfade transition on Spotify (set playback to 7 seconds) 👀 •also in eternal sunshine, you can hear Ari and Mac millers laugh in the beginning and a voice that supposedly says “you’re supposed to be here with me” •supernatural is the eternal sunshine version of sweeteners Everytime • I wish I hated you (and don’t wanna break up again) can parallel Ghostin •We can’t be friends (sonically) reminds me of dangerous woman’s thinking bout you and even some lyrics that parallel like “I don’t have you here with me but at least I have the memory” in thinking bout you. And wcbf’s music video and the album is literally about forgetting memories • The 60s,70s inspired promotional material really captures the worn out yet fresh essence of this album. She really knows how to bring it back, so subtlety. •Just like thank u next, I personally think this album can be listened to backwards, starting from ordinary things and ending with intro (end of the world)

Couple things for ya: *Regarding her using the word “situationship”, in Don’t Wanna Break Up Again you’d be correct. She’s actually referring to her marriage with her now ex-husband Dalton as a “situationship” rather than an actual marriage so neither really has their heart in it at this point. *True Story and The Boy is Mine are also a two part story. True Story was described as “the untruest story” by Ariana and has Ariana playing into the role of the bad guy that the media has labeled her as. And then The Boy is Mine is her acting on it. *The reason you think you’ve heard it before is because Ariana had a song that leaked called Fantasize that was all over TikTok and she included some aspects of the song into this to appease fans. The Boy is Mine is also named after the popular R&B song by Brandy and Monica from the 90s of the same name but the subject matter is slightly different.
