I only buy Skmei's homages to Casio if the real Casio is very expensive. For example the full metal G-shock square is ridiculously priced so I'd just get the SKMEI.

Skmei back light is better imo and the Skmei has bigger numbers on clock ,that is a good thing. Casio is around $70.00 now !!!! So Skmei for me .

Reelly like the larger digits on the SKMEI 1496 as well as it much better backlight, its a bit larger I have both and like both but the SKMEI does have a larger display, larger case and way better backlight that stays on like 2 to 3 seconds instead of having to hold it, accuracy seems very close so far - finally the SKMEI costs less than half the casio.

You should change the Titles to SKmei 1496.... I love the W218! But the Skmeis are growing on me.

Hi Jason. Another informative and interesting review. I have this particular Casio...Superb watch. I also have a Skmei GShock homage in stainless steel and it's truly amazing fo less than £10👍

The new lighting is looking much better! I’d also go for the Casio too, materials are definitely better quality and although I’m also all over a bargain, these watches are supposed to last, I wouldn’t be too confident with the Skmei. If you’re checking your analytics and wondering who’s watching your vids from Vietnam, that’d be me.

Of course it's cheaper because they don't need to invest the same amount of money that Casio does in research and development!! Stop supporting the Chinese copycats!

With Casio you have a watch for many many years, not with Skmei. If you wet it, say goodbye, if you drop it say goodbye, if it stops say goodbye. They aren't made to last, cheap garbage. I owned one, first shower and had to throw it to the trash. It was too much for it. It was a G-Shock copy. That's also another con, they aren't homages, they are directly copies of real Casios. Don't throw your money on a Skmei, they don't worth even a fraction of what they cost.
