Jason, have you been able to get the a6400 to work with CamLink? I've tried mine with the following settings: File Format: XAVC S HD Record Setting: 60p 50M HDMI Settings: HDMI Resolution: 1080p Output: 60p HDMI Info. Display: OFF CTRL FOR HDMI: OFF Then I have the Mode Dial on the camera turned to either "AUTO" or the Video icon. Also, I have the camera on and both the usb power and micro-hdmi to hdmi running from the camera to the Camlink4k that is plugged into a usb 3.0 port. I've already verified the CamLink to work when I plug a game console with hdmi into it. My suspicions are either 1.) the settings I have are wrong, or 1.) My micro-hdmi to hdmi cable is bad. I'm waiting on a new micro-hdmi to hdmi cable to show up to test out #2. Perhaps you can help me figure out whether my settings are correct and whether you've had success connecting this to camlink.

I have never been more excited to watch a 41 minute video on KZbin, knowing it will take me a good 6 months to really go through and learn as a complete newbie to photography and videography. I bought this camera after your review, and also many of the must-have accessories, and I also waited more than a month to even open my camera just so I can sit through this particular video. As a newbie, I feel empowered and I am truly excited to learn. You have eliminated so much anxiety for me because of your guidance! If I am just patient enough to learn, take it day by day, look up some definitions, explore those definitions, and play around with my camera I believe I can truly be so far ahead by this time next year in a way I never imagined--- actually a way, I am now imagining because I believe it. Thank you so much Jason!

Jason, if the 6400 has Display Monitor “For Viewfinder” - at about 21:48 min in vid - like other Alpha cams, here’s a seldom mentioned gem. This display (all settings data, no image) is a menu hiding in plain sight. With this display on the monitor press the Fn key - you can now select a setting, navigate and change the setting, like a menu. The display is not just static info (except for leveler and exp. meters). Seldom mentioned in YT, even by the Sony agents.

I've been struggling with my new A6400 for almost a month and was planning to sell it since I thought that camera's like DSLR/Mirrorless are just click and go like smartphones. I've been watching some youtube videos (not to say something bad about them) but their contents are really hard to understand. Your video keeps suggesting by youtube but it's a 40mins so I guess it's so tiring to watch since I prefer short videos only. So I tried watching your video and finished it. Now I would like to say thank you because I feel so knowledgeable now about the functions of the camera and the it's very easy now to navigate. Sorry for the long comment I am just happy and thankful that I have watched your videos. Please keep creating a helpful content and I will continue to support you. But first let me hit the subscribe button 😂. Again, Thank you so much! More subscribers and viewers for you! Cheers! 🍻

Jason... So I Just got my A6400 a couple weeks ago and used your/this video to set up the camera. My first time through I was following you, but a bit lost as I wasn't familiar with the Sony menu protocal. Two weeks later it's all making sense. Although I have to say there's no better learning process than just doing. I'm now going back to your video to tweak some basic video recording settings. Wanted to let other newbies know that if you felt lost the first time through this video, it's understandable. After I just started shooting review videos for a couple weeks, when I wanted to do something new or better, going back to this video definitely both helped and was easier the second+ time/s around. Thanks Jason... wish you were my neighbor. Doubt you'd get used to my interruptions for advice...... I'm sure I'm at the 'geezer-boomer' end of your viewing demographic... :-) (USAF Aerial Combat Photo, 601st Combat Photo, Tan Son Ngut, Vietnam & Ubon, Thai. '66-'70)
