Lots of Chinese kids I've meet always seems to be positive even if their lives aren't what they want. At an apartment I rented during my first stay in China my neighbor had a 12 year old boy. He would always try to talk to me and learn English. He spoke it quite well although a bit broken. His parents would argue a lot as it was quite loud when they do. He and his sister would go out in the hall way and entertain themselves. Whenever I would ask them if they were okay they would always smile and say. Arguing and talking are the almost the same but only at different volume. 😂 He told me he wanted to be a doctor and last week I saw in his parents social media he graduated from university and on to med school. fat camp cant help obese kids. It make kids fatter. because sustainable weight loss is not a few points or stages but a lifetime. Losing weight for a while in the slimming camps and then returning to the old way of life only makes fat people fatter and fatter each time. The body will understand that it may be undernourished (when doing a diet in a slimming camp) and will further increase the reserve mechanism to store fat and eat more when food is available. That's why people who lose weight by dieting when they leave the diet will gain excessive weight when they are not on the diet. After many failed diets and regaining weight, obese people will also easily lead to depression, give up and stress will stimulate appetite to relieve sadness and stress. As a result, the patient will fall into a loop: fat => stress => eat => fat => stress ..... To lose weight sustainably, it is necessary to commit to changing the lifestyle forever. That is, never overeat. Don't get too hungry either. Eat at 90% of your body's needs (a little hungry). Find recipes that do have a lot of vegetables and fruits. Limit soft drinks and beer. Find a favorite sport to play. And keep that lifestyle forever.

As a chinese kid who went from skinny to fat I can personally say it’s bad. As a kid you are told to eat more than you can store, my personal experience was with my grandma force feeding me until my stomach hurted. You have the attitude that you have to finish everything they get for you, so you can’t even choose how much you want to eat. Moreover, it’s culturally preffered to eat high calorie foods like rice and greasy vegetables. It’s also viewed as cuteness for a kid being fat, with other elders giving compliments, driving the child’s parent to get the kid even fatter. Then when the kids grow up they’re told to magically get a 6 pack and look asthetic. It’s nothing less than bull sh%t.

Physically and Mentally. Other people would say that rude or mean and unfair but that is how it works and I don’t see any changes happening anytime soon since the new generation will learn from the older generations. Rules are strict and other people will never know the torture the younger generation of China children face. This is how it always was. Maybe, maybe not but they are just trying to care for you and not have you weight jeopardize your health in the near future. Sorry that this is very long but if you gotten this far thank you. In a systematic review and meta-analysis published in the International Journal of Obesity in 2015, researchers found that structured weight loss programs, which included both dietary and physical activity interventions, resulted in greater weight loss than self-directed interventions. The review included studies conducted in various countries, including China. However, it's important to note that the effectiveness of any weight loss program, including those in Chinese weight loss camps, can vary depending on factors such as the individual's motivation, adherence to the program, and overall health status. Additionally, some weight loss camps may use extreme or potentially harmful methods to promote weight loss, so it's important for individuals to carefully research and choose a reputable program with a qualified and experienced staff. At around 9 min in, the lead coach disciplining the boy who laughed, the transportations were a bit off. He didn't say "or else we'll hate you". No, it wasn't harsh like that! He had given a good inspirational speach. Coach was teaching the boy how to be respectful and gain respect. If he's always clowning around, and grows up to be a disrespectful guy, then people in society would take him as a joke, he may even be hated in society. It was a good speach.

These boot camps won’t work and we already have research about this because of the study on The Biggest Loser. I’m not suprised that the boy gained all the weight back the first time, it’s in line with the study. These camps are really missing the mental health factor to the issue. You needed to approach the obesity problem from multiple areas. Restriction is a big no for weight loss, again, because you just gain it back. There needs to be obesity focused dietitians, mental health professionals working with whoever is setting up the exercise program. This is the minimum. The negative reinforcement of these camps guarantee gaining back the weight eventually.

@@suziejames7510 It's not just the fast food, but also their families' food culture. Coz many regions in China cook VERY greasy and heavy food daily, and that contributes to their obesity and diabetes. I'm from Guangzhou like in the video, where local dishes/cooking style is very light compared to other regions in China. But my parents are from another region called Hunan and the dishes there are extremely greasy, and that's probably why so many ppl there have obesity and diabetes. I once went to Hunan with my parents for 3 days and I got really bad stomaches and got ill after coz of the greasy food there. It’s good that you noticed quickly what the cause of the weight gain was. For losing it- it’s about 80% your diet and 20% exercise. By diet, I don’t mean a temporary fad diet, but a permanent lifestyle change. You should stick to eating less processed foods, avoid the bad oils & include healthy fats. I like videos from a KZbinr named Bobby who goes over foods in Costco and other grocery stores. Exercise can be whatever you will be likely to stick to. @Jesusislord-hd7fe Every one of those 'sinners' are supposed to be gods children who have just been led astray according to your own religion. No one likes preachers unless they individually follow them, most preachers are mentally ill people on the streets without jobs, not only is it an immense waste of time since it never convinces anyone but it actively harms the image of your religion. Also telling people they are going to burn in hell is only going to convince children, an adult who has not grown up with the fear of hell implanted into them by their parents or pastor is not going to reconsider there atheism because 'Jesusislord' said they are going to burn for eternity. You need to change your whole approach if you want to get ahead of the slow decline of christianity worldwide! I am not religious anymore but when i was around 13 the imam at the mosque i had to attend would mostly talk about positive subjects, he told them how for good behaviour in this life they would benefit in the next with whatever they wanted, that seemed to be work on these kids far better than telling them maggots are going to eat their burning body so i think itd be even more effective on adults, everyone loves a wish fulfilment fantasy. Tldr- maybe try a different approach if you want actual success instead of being the main character in your own holy war like most people whose religiosity damn near dictates their whole life.

I went 3 times a week, and eventually when I felt the burn I would tell myself "burn=progress" and that I want to be healthier, feel good about myself. Today weighed in at about 130ibs. I feel good after working out, and im happy that im making progress, and people around me say they see the difference. There is a similar camp but in the US for kids with bad behavior or dropouts so that they can get their GED. It is military based, usually with Army, or otherwise, running everything. By the end, the kids were able to better function in the roles that they were given. HOWEVER, after graduation, almost all of the kids fall right back into their old behaviors because they go back to the same environment. The kids in this video will fall to the exact same fate because they do not stay at this camp forever, and hardly any will go into the Chinese military. This program was doomed to fail because it started with incompetence from the top and was ordered on downward.

The kids should be there 2 months and be able to rest on alternate days, receive classroom education about fitness and get a good dose of positivity towards the end. That way they'll get enough rest to focus on the educational aspect. Kids need at least 10 hours sleep a night and more if they're in training.

When these kids go back, if they don't assert themselves in staying healthy, the grandparents and parents are just going to spoil them again enabling a regression to previous behaviors. Just forcing kids to lose weight fast is horrible. They need to learn to like exercise and healthy foods. 90 percent of the struggle is mental.

yeah they dont tackle the problem at its roots, it just makes the kids hate exercising more. But this time although they force the kids into the camp, which is a textbook example of the chinese government controlling its citizens, i think the motive behind it isn't so bad. Even though the atmosphere isn't very friendly, at the end of the day some of the kids there will change for the better and try to continue a healthy (though probably not as strict) lifestyle, while the rest end up eating more when they get out and gaining back the weight they lost.

the fact that you relate this to chinese government controlling citizens is fucking hilarious. it's a fat camp, not a holocaust...also you can find these camps everywhere around the world bahahhahah i have no idea what it has to do with the chinese government but say whatever you want bro

I think that is just an overall theme to whatever related to South Asia From the education system to this, they aren't that different Plus saying that they will just gain back their weight is just obscure, keep in mind most of the kid here ARE actually want to lose weight, they don't want to live like that nor do they think that they are fine They will put up weight, and end up being overweight, but saying that they will just return to the same stage without knowing to stop just by the sheer amount of fear is kinda wrong

Its not gov but parents that force their kids in camps

"But this time although they force the kids into the camp, which is a textbook example of the chinese government controlling its citizens" ... No, it's a textbook example of Chinese parents controlling their children, which itself is a textbook example of outdated parenting ideas from the last generation being applied to people who really have no goddamn clue how to confront the modernity they were thrust into. There is nothing in this documentary indicating that the government forced this. This is a moral panic by regular people. The people cannot get out of responsibility for this one by blaming the government. We have this exact same thing here in the west too; just not as commonly.

As usual the Chinese think bull dozing through a problem and forcing kids to lose weight this fast. As in America, England, Africa and other countries, the problem starts with the PARENTS. Reschool the parents before working on the kids and GET RID OF THE FAST FOOD.

At least they're trying to do something. The US hides its true obesity rates opting instead to publish whatever residents are willing to admit. That's better? Over there, the root of the problem lies with China's policy limiting children and herding younger adults to work in unaffordable cities. This steered parents and grandparents to pamper, spoil, and overfeed particularly the boys who are expected as adults to care for their aging parents. China has been experiencing the same phenomenon as seen in western countries and elsewhere when parents and/or grandparents baby children while they're growing up. Boys become insecure, dysfunctional, and feminine. Girls become insecure, dysfunctional, and masculine. Their obesity rates are far lower because the vast majority still walk a lot every day.

When I was a 15yo, 55-60kg was considered fat for 14-16 year olds and I had to be that fat girl in school. Now when I see pick up my niece from school I saw that the fat kid was like 100kg, and my 55kg niece is considered average.. and it honestly blew my mind how perception of weight change overtime while our bodies still work the same. Both shame culture and acceptance culture are toxic and it's hard to find the balance as parents. And this is another reason why the possibility of marriage and kids is scary.

Same. When I was 15 I was shamed for being fat because I was a size 4. Now a size 4 is considered super skinny lol

this all stems from the family's poor attitude to health. This is idiotic yoyo dieting with zero real lifestyle changes. The parents just allow him to gorge himself after the camp and thats pretty much useless.

Do NOT eat the food from western fast food restaurants. So many in the u.s. (I'm American), and raising our kids, hardly ever went to fast foods. Keep with our old traditions......fresh vegetables, protein, and nothing is as good as home made.

@rachelcookie3212 жыл бұрын
Why? China seems like it would be very likely to me. For a long time Chinese people mostly lived in the countryside doing hard labour work like farming. They weren’t rich and didn’t have lots of unhealthy food. Then suddenly in recent times there was a drastic change in the lifestyle. People started moving to cities and doing more desk jobs. High pressure on kids to do well in school has them sitting at desks for most of the day studying. The internet came incentivising people to sit more at their computer even after school and work to play games. Cheap fast food brought unhealthy but yummy food to be more accessible to lower classes. They had these changes in all countries but China had them happen very fast. They were not able to adapt over multiple generations.

ouch… when he said he will dream of her and his other family so they can connect and communicate in his dream. literally my heart broke into a million pieces🥺💔 i hope she really was busy! if not she doesn’t deserve such a loving, kind hearted son. i swear almost every single over weight person is the best kind of people you could ever befriend. they have the biggest heart. rarely ever mean to one another. we know what it feels like and we do not judge others. i am obese too and i am grateful that it allowed me to be the way i am today. if i was skinny my entire life i would probably be a spoiled little pretty privileged brat lol

"i'm willing to spend a lot of money on him" sir, it's not just money and camps, it's the example you set for him. You cant expect your child to eat healthily if you don't do that as a family.
