@@Genya007 kucch bhi idiot. Indo-China war happened in 1962, and a major clash in 1967, since then there's been no official war between India & China. Also, the 62 war was fought in Aksai Chin, not North East. The events at the start of the movie happened in the early 90s. They were not meant to be Chinese soldiers/PLA. They were local militants since insurgency was at its peak in many areas of NE in the 90s.

Elise made a good point about animal respect. Current times may not be the best examples of it but relatively, India has been a place where the animals are not only respected but revered. Almost every God in Hinduism is either based on an animal or has an animal as his subordinate/mode of transportations. Devotees praying to gods also have a high place for these animals when they worship them

Jawan's literally translation is Young but it is majorly used as a term for soldiers in India. Have a small anecdote abt this..India's 2nd Prime Minister "Lal Bahadur Shastri" gave a slogan of "Jai Jawan Jai Kisaan" which translates to "Praise the soldiers, praise the farmers". It's not the first time the word has been used but it might be the most famous one yet..!!
