I can relate dude. After 11 years, I went back to Senegal to visit my grandparents and the first thing that scared was when I tried to put on my seat belt, my grandma said “No need, you can have it off.” I’m currently staying in Touba and we also have frequent blackouts for no reason. I have a very interesting security story. A few months ago, I was flying to Salt Lake to visit my Grandparents. and cause I have long hair, I get missgendered as a girl. So the security lady was like, "Ima need u to step aside. I'm going to have to do a groin search, because we have a big notification." So me being a dumbass, I wasn't listening. I was about to have this lady cop a feel, when my mom was like, "he's a boy." AND THE LOOK ON THAT LADIES FACE. She like blushed and apologized. To this day, I still think it's funny as hell.

I'm not African but I'm Puerto Rican who was born in PR to move to the US in 2013. I did go back to PR in 2015 on vacation and on Spring 2022 I went to PR again, it is a very fun country! And the beaches (depending where you were; I was in San Juan) take like 15-20 minutes to go to. I even went outside *a lot* more which is also pretty cool, and we were just at our relatives. (Uncle and grandma from moms side) Puerto Rico (depending which part you live in) is good from a tourists side. Even though a bunch of earthquakes, hurricanes, and more sadly come to PR the citizens there are very chill. Plus it is always HOT so even if it's January the coldest it will be is 70 (Depending on where you are) TLDR; Puerto Rico is a cool country but I got 50+ mosquito bites :(
