As I saw someone else say, jax’s attitude is doing is actually most likely the best way to keep from going insane. Focusing on the fun he can have instead of getting attached to anyone/anything that’ll inevitably abstract or is just a digital creation. This episode made me realize that every character has a coping mechanism to deal with the whole "digital purgatory" situation. Ragatha for instance focuses on helping everyone and keeping the group together, so she has a feeling that it all matters Jax on the others hand seems to treat it like he is playing GTA, going Murderhobo so he can tell himself it's all one big guilt-free video game

Honestly, I still love him like this. He's even more chaotic, and making him "troubled" or a jerk means one of two things imo. 1) He has some issues that are very difficult for him to overcome, meaning there's a lot of potential for character development which makes him a more dynamic character (which seems like a possibility because of his face when Kaufo's funeral was brought up) or 2) Even if he doesn't change and stays rude and sassy, he can be that character who we love to hate. And regardless of how mean he is, I think a lot of people can appreciate and laugh at his chaotic evil nature. He's witty and sassy, something I think many fans will love regardless of his personality
