I really like the idea that the first episode starts with the post regeneration trauma making the doctor seem like just another homeless guy at the food bank, with burned clothes and the companion thinking that he is just high. Then you follow it up with short scenes showing the doctor joining the staff there and helping out, and you can show them developing a repor and friendship over the episode by having them initially just being co-workers. So then you also kinda get to do a little bit of post-regeneration weirdness at the start and having a seasoned-ish doctor for the majority of the story

Only about an hour into this so forgive me if this idea comes up. Time travel question that's always asked. "if you had a time machine would you go back and kill (insert big historical bad here)?" Doctor and Jodi land in 2020 and go to the unveiling of a big new tech thing that's going to "revolutionize the world as we know it"! Then a Time Traveling Assassin shows up and it looks like hes here to kill the tech guy, because the new gizmo must go bad in the future and the assassins here to stop that from happening. The Doctor and Jodi spend the episode running around protecting tech guy from the assassin, only to find out the assassin is here for Jodi. The unveiling is a big event that's well documented in the future. its common knowledge that Jodi was defiantly their before her rise to power, that's why the assassin picked this day because he knew where she would be and she wouldn't be protected by guards yet. This could be the way she finds something must go bad in her future but what?

Here’s an idea for a new doctor introduction. You do a season with a new, but well experienced doctor, a doctor who (!) has obviously been doing their thing for a while. They meet the companion, they recruit them, they have a romp or two, but eventually, they get separated. When the companion is about to die, they get rescued by... the previous doctor? Previous doctor gets an episode or two, companion is confused but roles with it, than BAM. Previous doctor ends up regenerating, becoming new doctor, the one we started the season with. This could be a single season thing, probably two seasons at least. Was that articulate? Probably not. Was it basically Charley Polard’s story, but slightly different? Yeah, basically. Is it an interesting structure for a TV show? I very much think so.

I think "Dalek, But Again" should end with the companion sending a message to the Dalek Empire to save the captured Daleks, but causes the entire planet they're on to be sterilised. And then they also destroy the captured Daleks because of them being too insane to live. Then The Doctor basically ends the story saying "told you so".

I like the idea that Jodie begins to sympathise with the tortured Daleks and tries to help them only for the Daleks to pull the rug out from beneath her. Most of them kill themselves but several hatch a plan to kill the collector. They kill a bunch of people before taking Jodie and some others as hostages. In the end though, the new Dalek that has not yet been tortured kills all the tortured Daleks and the Doctor manages to save most of the hostages. Jodie, however, gets trapped with the new Dalek who is about to exterminate her when the oldest Dalek arrives and exterminates it. By this point the Doctor has made it into the room and is about to kill the Dalek but then the Dalek begs for mercy. The Doctor still doesn't believe that a Dalek can change but Jodie does not agree. She ends up managing to talk the Doctor into helping the Dalek which they take to another planet for it to begin a new life.

Some other alterations I would make would be swapping 2060 and the prisoners. I feel this would work better because we have 2060 as the big fallout between the Doctor and Jodie and so the Doctor tries to return her to her home but then he accidentally drops her off in 2060. The other would be replacing 'The Human Revolution' (when was the revolution?) with a present day Earth episode. The premise I thought of the Doctor and Jodie return to Newcastle two months later and hear about strange stuff going on in the city. I feel it should set some things up for the finale, perhaps Arthur (Who I mentioned in another comment) appears as a preacher in a pub. We also get some more character development for James (another character I made up) who helps the Doctor and Jodie solve the problem but decides not to join our Tardis team in the end.

I like all their episode ideas save for episode one, they briefly discussed an idea where an organism is inside a closed facility during lockdown and it’s growing unchecked which while not intentional will become hazardous, my idea would be it is an invisible or hidden organism that releases poison gas as a defence mechanism when others get close and the lockdown is coming to an end so leisure centres like the building the creature is in are about to be reopened, and this gives a clear opportunity to show Jodie’s moral compass while also showing how our new(?) doctor will react to this unintentional threat

Go about looking at the sentimental scientific things, like points in the formation of earth and sun, evolution of life, key points in prehistory, future events of human achievements, the end of earth, humanity, etc. But try to go to key points in the character's life, trying to bring back loved ones or play with dead pets or kind of thing, and drive this incredible wedge between the doctor and a companion who can't understand why he doesn't fix great atrocities like nazis or such. The government of Sontar wants to end the war and negotiate peace because of how much of their resources are being spent on the war. The civilians are starving/ dying of plague, or something. When the warrior caste finds out, they choose to kill off the civilians and government of their world. Here's the full plot for the return to Earth story I created called 'Time Machines'. Notable Characters: The Doctor Jodie James (Jodie's friend) Arthur (Future leader of Britain) Opens with a strange figure called Blake appearing in Newcastle and getting in a fight with a pair of drunk people which he dominates. He then scans them both, throws one of them into the river and shoots the other one. Intro James is walking along a street when he hears the TARDIS. He runs round a corner whilst The Doctor lands the TARDIS, he congratulates himself on being only two weeks from the night they left on. James then enters, The Doctor makes a remark about knocking and Jodie and James reunite. Meanwhile, at a large mansion house, a pair of inventors called Stafford and Liberty are conducting a scientific experiment with a group of scientists. A reporter then arrives to interview Stafford. Jodie goes to college and makes up a lie about her going on holiday. She then goes to James’ flat where The Doctor is checking the news whilst James is grumbling at him. Jodie then comes in and she and James catch up on each other’s activities. The Doctor hears about the recent spree of serial killings and sees an interview on James’ television with Brisco Stafford who says he has invented a machine that will 'change the future'. The Doctor is intrigued and asks James if he has a car. James asks why but The Doctor isn’t interested in explaining. He tells Jodie and James to come with him and put on something formal. The Doctor changes his tie and the three drive to a big house on the outskirts of Newcastle where Stafford is unveiling his machine. The Doctor uses psychic paper to get Liberty to guide them to the demonstration stage. A crowd of reporters and journalists are there including Arthur. The Doctor hands James and Jodie psychic papers and, after asking The Doctor about his plan, they learn he doesn’t have one and so go to the free buffet. Arthur tries interviewing Stafford but Stafford isn’t interested and instead goes outside to greet the press. Meanwhile Blake has arrived at the house on a motorcycle and is watching the news report on a Sightglass (the future equivalent of a mobile phone). He leaves the motorcycle by a telegraph post and attaches a box to it. He then walks over the grounds. Stafford gives a speech about the ‘Stafford Walls’ which The Doctor makes fun of. Stafford switches the machine on which generates a blue wall around the house. Blake sees it and is surprised but keeps walking. The Doctor is unimpressed until Stafford demonstrates that the walls are actually harmful to move through. The walls then drop and the spectators wander off whilst The Doctor goes after Stafford as he believes the machine could be dangerous. Stafford thanks the scientists and goes upstairs. One of the scientists then notices that the ‘Stafford Walls’ are still active and tells another scientist to go into another room to check the electric generators where they find Blake who has broken into the house and tampered with the generators. The scientist tries to stop him but gets scanned by Blake and then killed by him. The Doctor tricks Liberty into introducing him to Stafford and begins asking Stafford about the machine. Stafford indirectly reveals he kept it from when he was an employee at Torchwood 1. They then notice that the walls are still active. Meanwhile two reporters have a chat and one goes to the bathroom. Blake then comes out of the power room to encounter another scientist. He scans her but doesn’t kill her and instead knocks her out with a syringe. Then the reporter exits from the bathroom and is scanned by Blake. She walks away, sees him bring out his gun, runs to the door and gets shot in front of the other guests. The Doctor, Liberty and Stafford are arguing when they hear the spectators screaming and go to see what is going on. Blake scans the reporter whilst the spectators escape down a corridor. He then knocks out the reporter before getting a glass thrown at him by Jodie. He tries to scan her but she is pulled aside by James. They run down a corridor whilst Blake shoots at them. They make it round a corridor and encounter The Doctor, Liberty and Stafford as some other spectators rush past them whilst others go to the front door and outside. They, along with Jodie and James hide in a room with some other spectators who try to call the police but get no signal. Meanwhile the other scientist is listening to music when they reach the entrance. They then notice that the shields are still active. Just then a group of people appear, one tries to go through then but gets shocked by the wall, they shout at the scientist and the scientist hurries back to switch it off. Meanwhile another group tries to break out and can’t so they hide in some bushes. The characters upstairs grab weapons such as snooker cues and head downstairs to find Blake. They search the rooms but only find other spectators as well as the spectators with the scientist. The scientist has found that the machine is broken and she and Stafford are trying to fix it. The other spectator is trying to do CPR on the scientist that was knocked out. The Doctor does a quick assessment and concludes they were attacked with a non-fatal type of poison created in the 2030's. The characters then discuss how to escape and James asks if they have any other shields. Stafford says he doesn’t but Liberty says she does. Stafford is confused but Liberty admits that she has been cloning the machine in order to recreate it. The pair begin to argue but are quickly snapped out of it by The Doctor and Liberty rushes off to find it. Blake locates the people in the bushes using a heat detector whilst they organize a plan to escape. Meanwhile Liberty brings in the shield and The Doctor takes it so he can interrogate Blake saying ‘You can’t fight fire with fire’. The old man then runs off to distract Blake and gets immediately stunned by Blake who then runs across to scan the younger man escaping. He scans him and the man begins running back to the bushes when he gets shot by Blake just as The Doctor appears at the top of a bank. Blake scans him but doesn’t get any information on his device and The Doctor assesses that Blake is only killing certain people. He then realizes that the people Blake is killing are significant future figures. Meanwhile Arthur is still in the bushes trying to watch what is happening. The other person with him is trying to pull him away and he finally agrees. In the house the other survivors are watching The Doctor whilst Stafford, Liberty and the scientist try to fix the machine to lower the walls. One of the people then notices the shield systems are breaking down due to a lack of power. Jodie goes to inform The Doctor but James warns her it could be dangerous. Jodie slaps James and tells him about what she's been through. She then creeps outside accompanied by James. Part 1/2
@ewanfawkes27082 жыл бұрын
The Doctor asks Blake how he is intending to avoid the paradox this meddling will create. Blake explains that he has a machine that will preserve his consciousness and insert it into his 2020s self. The Doctor then looks down at his own paper and sees the message that his shield has failed. Blake then notices that The Doctor's shields are not appearing on his scanner anymore and that two humans have appeared on the heat detector. He starts shooting at the group but The Doctor throws himself to the ground in time and follows Jodie and James back into the house whilst Blake runs up the bank after them. In the house The Doctor orders most of the remaining humans to guard the windows. He gives Liberty's machine to Stafford and tells him to recharge it whilst he investigates the machine and asks Liberty if she has any plans for the device. She says she has them in her car and goes to find them whilst Stafford sits and grumbles. The Doctor tells him he is a massive hypocrite which finally shuts him up. They then hear a noise from one of the other rooms, they go to the door armed with knives, snooker cues and other weapons and open the door only to find Arthur and the other survivor. They head back through the house while a group of humans make a rudimentary blockage for the broken window. Meanwhile Liberty has found the blueprints in her car but then hears footsteps from behind her. She turns around to be immediately scanned by Blake. She screams and the other characters hear her and race out to help. Blake tries to stun Liberty but she tries to fight him just as the others appear and gets shot instead. Stafford is furious and charges at Blake brandishing a cue. Blake scans him and tries to stun him but Stafford wrestles the stun weapon off him. Blake then shoots Stafford instead and the rest of the characters run back into the house. With the inventors killed, The Doctor is out of options. The remaining scientist then has an idea. She goes to the dead scientist’s bag, searches through it and finds blueprints for the machine explaining that there had to be a reason she was killed by Blake. The Doctor is impressed and they both hurry off to repair the machine. Meanwhile Arthur has taken command of the other humans and they have placed several piles of chairs in front of the doors. They pause for a breath and and most head to the workshop, whilst Arthur and some others keep guard with some weapons, not noticing the sound of something breaking. In the workshop the scientist and The Doctor along with Jodie and James have almost finished repairing the machine when they realize they are still without power. The Doctor, the scientist and Jodie hurry off and make it to the generator room where, after some figuring out, they manage to switch the power back on and the shields outside fall. The scientist, Jodie and The Doctor then go to leave but are confronted by Blake who tries to shoot them. Blake’s bullets, however, are stopped by Liberty’s shield. The shield, however, is rapidly running out of power whilst Blake stands between them and the door. Back in the workshop, James has noticed a broken window on the other side of the house and, realizing that Blake must have broken back into the house, runs off down the corridors. Meanwhile Jodie is trying to talk Blake out of killing them but Blake refuses however and raises his gun to shoot them. They close their eyes just as Blake gets hit across the head with a snooker cue. They open them just as the shield falls to see James holding it. After this Blake is carried into the living room by Jodie and the scientist whilst The Doctor and James go outside. The Doctor investigates the box on the telegraph pole and tells James that this is what was stopping the telephones. He then removes it and James immediately calls the police and ambulance service. Back in the house Jodie treats Blake’s wounds whilst he lies on the settee when he stands up, pushes her to the wall and holds a knife to her neck. Then, suddenly, a shot is heard and Blake falls to the floor. Jodie turns to see Arthur holding Blake’s gun. Jodie thanks him and The Doctor and some other people come in. They crowd around Blake whilst Arthur shakes The Doctor's hand and reveals who he is. He leaves and The Doctor stands still looking surprised. It ends with Jodie in hospital talking to James about the day’s events. He asks her what she wants to do and if she wants to continue travelling with The Doctor? Back at the TARDIS The Doctor is filing all the information on the shield machines whilst the scientist is looking around. The Doctor asks what will happen to Stafford’s property and the scientist reveals she will inherit it and she was in fact Stafford’s niece. The Doctor then asks if she wants to travel with him but she politely turns down his offer saying she is more interested in physics than fighting. On returning to her flat. Jodie makes up her mind to go with the Doctor. She packs up a rucksack. Gives James a hug and exchanges playful banter with him and then walks along the street to the TARDIS where she finds the Doctor looking at a screen. She asks if he still wants her to travel with him and he replies yes. He then asks about where she wants to go and she suggests some distant planet in the far future. She goes off to put her bag away and we cut to a shot of the screen the Doctor was looking at. It shows a picture of present day Jodie with text saying ‘Jodie Queen’, ‘Went missing for two weeks in August 2020’ and ‘Historical figure’. Part 2/2

Hey, just wanted to say this is an excellent storyboard! It sounds like a fun episode in itself, but also fits into the wider plot well. Very nice. It also has a few opportunities for really cool moments of staging and camera work. I especially like the idea of everyone celebrating at the end with Jodie and James foregrounded, then a reverse shot of Arthur leaning into the Doctor and him looking intrigued, then listening, then surprised, then Arthur walks away leaving him concerned. You continue the video of Doctor/Arthur but with the audio of James/Jodie and/or some light mysterious music to signpost what is happening, so you cannot hear what is being said just the Doctors reaction. Then he approaches James and Jody and when they ask what's up the Doctor gestures back to Arthur and says something like "oh, just finally getting a proper introduction". This suffices for the moment but leaves the audience wondering. Edit: One potential problem I have with your episode idea having thought about it is that it feels like quite an "introductory" story. It feels like it's setting things up for the future rather than cashing in on any big developments or revelations from prior to this episode. If you want this to be the Episode Seven Silver Salvation replacement for the "you know who you remind me of?" moment, you probably need Jodie to take more initiative and be more independent of the Doctor, to reflect the character development she's already got from Under Siege/City of Sontar.

@@English_Thespian I was thinking more of it being episode six with TUCODJ&MH being seven, SS being eight and TDOM and THR being a single episode nine. I also thought since the Sontar episodes would have been quite heavy for Jodie (TCOS in my version ends with a giant massacre) then in would have made sense for Jodie to want to return back home. I also quite liked the idea that at the end after seeing how drab her everyday life was once she gets back and her slowly deciding to keep travelling with The Doctor. The end scene with her giving a vague answer as to where she wants to go is meant to symbolize some character development in that she's less assertive of the places she wants to go and instead wants to travel with The Doctor more for the enjoyment of the experience than anything else.

Sorry to say it, but The First Sontarans did the sontaran origin story first. Not that non-tv Doctor Who ideas being used in tv Doctor Who is unusual, but it’s been done. Regardless, you’ve created a good, compelling idea for a two parter.

I know I'm a lot of months late but I'd go with Stephen Mangan as the doctor, or alternatively Patterson Joseph as a similar doctor to the marquis de cabaras

If the doctor Jekyll man hears the voices for the first time while he’s writing the story, why do they go away when he writes it again? The first time he writes it, he gets a voice, and the second time, he loses it. It doesn’t make sense.

I was thinking about this. The story could begin with the Doctor in the Tardis noticing that several examples of his gothic literature have gone missing with the oldest being 'Doctor Jekyll and Mr Hyde'. He and Jodie go to Bournemouth in 1885 and meet Stevenson who is considering giving up writing as it is hurting him mentally. The Doctor is worried that Stevenson giving up could damage history and so decides to use a telepathic device in the Tardis to read Stevenson's mind. It turns out there is some sort of creature that is living in Stephenson's mind and is slowly taking over his entire thinking process. The Doctor and friends manage to get rid of the Living Idea but Stevenson is still doubtful about whether he should continue writing and the Doctor (who has gone through an arc about letting people make their own decisions) tells him it is his choice. We then get a montage of Stephenson rewriting the book from scratch, struggling at first but gradually becoming happy with it and the last scene is him reading it in a theatre. He leaves the stage and goes into a dressing room where he finds the Doctor and Jodie. The Doctor shakes his hand and then asks him to sign his own copy of 'Doctor Jekyll and Mr Hyde', he begins reading the copyright information and notices the book is from the future. He stands in awe now knowing that his work will be remembered for hundreds of years whilst the Doctor and Jodie walk off, happy in the thought that they helped Stevenson out.

Here's an idea that's stuck in my head. The season starts with The Doctor meeting their new companion. Half-way through the season, The Doctor decides that the companion doesn't have what it takes, and tries to kick them out. It's then revealed that the companion is the next Doctor. The rest of the season has the current Doctor trying to get the next Doctor to reveal how they regenerate. Just before the finale, it's revealed that the next Doctor doesn't know how they regenerated because of the multi-Doctor amnesia. Which means that the current Doctor is doomed to regenerate while travelling with the next Doctor, causing the current Doctor to resent the next Doctor, and blame them for the regeneration. The season ends with the newly regenerated Doctor waking up next to their TARDIS and deciding to go back in time to figure out how they regenerated. Then, you re-watch the entire season from that Doctor's perspective.
