Holy shit, from like minute 4 to minute 6 dude had no idea what he was asking. "If you killed me and went to heaven, would you know if you actually killed me? I mean, what would you say to God? I mean, would you knownif it's a simulation? So what I am asking is what would be the reason you killed me?" 😂😂😂😂

My goodness, is there anything worse than a non-stop series of “what’s the argument for that?” What’s the argument that arrogance is bad!? IDK if we can’t agree on that/you can’t figure it out on your own, are you worth talking to? It feels like some people need to be reminded that you actually need to find some things upon which you agree in order to have a conversation worth anything. Just being contrarian doesn’t mean you’re “cooking” anyone.

Thing is he isn't a philbro. He's a wanna be philbro who is an obnoxious one trick, asking indefinitely for an argument for things that were also trivially true and things not even propositional. This is just Dyer presup pool. Orthodox ppl should try to do philosophy unless they're gonna actually do it (plus he was trolling (i think)). And he seemed almost like he wanted to debate at very end with him and Mason then he turned back on his trolling.

There’s a lot of irony in this video. Maybe I’m incorrect but the guy called “Physicalism” sounds like a guy that used to use discord, I think he went by the name of “Useless Fiction”, or at least that what I heard people call him. Anyway, he used to just repetitively ask people in debates “what’s the argument for that?” and “what do you mean by that?”, and also frequently accuse people of “running away”. He’s now here calling this guy a troll for doing the same thing. Funny, isn’t it? Btw, MonkeyBoy, you started saying “sorry, sorry, sorry”, thinking about it now, is that something you’ve subconsciously picked up from absorbing the way Jack Angstreich speaks?
@darth_mb
@darth_mb 6 күн бұрын
Yes, Physicalism is Useless Fiction who doesn't just ask constantly what's meant and for arguments unreasonably and dishonestly. Idk why you'd say, "doing the same thing". And I think I picked up the sorry myself, if anything it was from AY.
@IsabellaHuntress
@IsabellaHuntress 6 күн бұрын
@ I disagree, I think he’s been dishonest and unreasonable whilst conducting himself that way on many occasions. I’m not going to make a compelling case for you to accept that as a lot of the interactions I’ve witnessed of him behaving that way aren’t recorded, and I don’t have the time to go through and present all the recorded examples either, so we can just leave that one at a disagreement.
@darth_mb
@darth_mb 6 күн бұрын
@IsabellaHuntress at any case to say he did it the same as this guy were literally, literally all he'd do is ask for arguments even for things non-propositional and confused. Like he literally asked "what's the argument that's what you mean" after informing him what I meant by something. Mason most definitely is not dishonest, wether or not you think he demand unreasonably for arguments. If what you want to say is dishonest is him asking to define things a lot of terms especially in metaphysics are likely gibberish or have an ambiguous polysemantical sense. Ofc too most ppl generally use a lot of terms idiosyncratically, Mason has been asked before if he's asking for a definition given he suspects they are equivocating or don't share the sense he'd himself give an analysis of what he means in light of furthering the conversation. This is something many people just now cry about, this very strictly linear method employed by AY and Mason were they aren't affair to ask questions and ask for arguments that people normally don't do, why most people are trash, then are seen as being pedantic or being intelligent dishonest or just obnoxious given the general population doesn't do this. Think you likely just adapted this normality of people not doing semantic analysis and asking to be provide arguments. Also this guy would ask for arguments that even if had don't turn on anything, Mason doesn't just ask for arguments for things that don't turn on the topic of conversation, that's for sure. I definitely have far more experiences with him and it's extremely unlikely he's how you described, you probably are reading the situation wrong, mixing context, or maybe yourself layman or not equipped or in a position to properly gage the dialect and wether Masons behavior is something that reflects a dishonest and unreasonable showing.
@IsabellaHuntress
@IsabellaHuntress 6 күн бұрын
@ I don’t know why you’d think I’ve adapted that normality. I’m all for analysis, it can be useful, but there’s reasons for me to believe that Useless Fiction on many occasions wasn’t really interested in an analysis but rather interested in being antagonistic in a troll like fashion. It’s possible that I’ve read the situations wrong, lots of things are possible, but I don’t think it’s likely that I’m wrong. Im certainly no layman either, I have an education in philosophy and psychology and I’ve spent a lot of time analysing debates within the community you’re familiarised with. Not to blow my own horn or anything, but I’m pretty good at reading people. We won’t agree here, that’s why I said best to just leave it at a disagreement Mr. MonkeyBoy.
@darth_mb
@darth_mb 6 күн бұрын
@IsabellaHuntress so yeah you did have a misinterpretation, Mason doesn't troll. But to say he seemed to be trolling or seemed to be dishonest is just evidence that you're not as well as reading people as you may think in any case. No1 in community also has this view of Mason either so..
