Now that we’ve owned our Jayco Jay Feather Micro 171BH for two years, we’ve decided to update our owner’s review. After our first year of ownership we put together a video outlining the items we dislike about the trailer and the items we love. Now that we've had the trailer for another year we thought we'd go over how we've resolved some of those earlier issues, and discuss new issues that came up in the second year.
You can see our 1-Year Owner Review here: • Jay Feather Micro 171B...

Thankyou for the info. I bought a 2022 used micro same as yours so far I'm so thrilled with it. Its very roomy and great storage. Tows very nice too. We camp everywhere we can and prefer not to stay in the state parks. We live in Montana so there are plenty of free camping spots.

Congrats! I'm glad you're enjoying the trailer. Montana seems like a beautiful place to camp. That's nice there are so many options 😊

Thanks for another great video, we picked up a 2022 Micro 171BH in Sep 2022 and your videos were very helpful pre/post purchase. So far were only able to take the trailer out in the fall before packing away for winter (Live in Canada so too cold to use through winter). Thanks for the amazing videos. We are currently undergoing replacing the entry door window, adding the screen protector, recoating the brush guard as it started rusting out of the factory, repairing the saging drawers as you mentioned, designing a custom fold out bunk ladder, adding a max air on big fan, custom fabricated tire holder, and trying to design a vertical door to replace the mesh net at the storage area that would roll back towards the rear of trailer when access is required. I'm sure more projects (and of course camping trips) to come as we keep using the trailer! Hope to see many more videos of your adventures and upgrade suggestions :)

Wow! That will keep you busy for a while 😆 Hopefully you finish up just in time to enjoy some beautiful camping weather. The vertical door under the bunks sounds like a cool mod. And you will love that new entry window, it makes a huge difference in camp side visibility. Thank you so much for the kind words, it really means a lot to me to know the content is helping. Happy camping! 🍻🏕️

@@RoginaRoaming Thanks for the reply, upgrades are progressing, will forward a video, if I can figure out a way to, of the storage area door when completed (currently looking at aluminum track on floor and underside of bunk and looks like it should work well. Couldn't believe how quick the MaxAir vent was if there were the tabs. Did the drawer reinforcements with the bar and angled plastic pieces and fixed the sagging door perfectly (thanks for those links, was able to find them on Amazon Canada too) looking at adding the blocking as well soon. Tried the replace the entry window yesterday but the new frame was scratched so try again with a replacement soon and hopefully it will go smoothly.

Sounds like great progress! That's a bummer about the window, hopefully they can send you a replacement. It would be awesome to see how your under the bunk storage mod turns out.

Thanks, this is a great model. You might have better luck with used ones in a month or two when summer trips are over.

Enjoy your video as we are planning on getting micro 173MRB this fall. You have beautiful hair and may want to consider donating it to “Locks of Love” if you decide to shorten your hair. It will go to children who have lost their hair. Again thanks for the update on your RV.

Thanks for the kind words. The 173MRB looks like a great model, it has some amazing window coverage and the walk around bed seems like it would be nice.

We're looking into getting one (or potentially the slide model). Do you find that it is big enough to be comfortable with the two kids?
@RoginaRoaming
@RoginaRoaming Жыл бұрын
When we purchased we were intentionally looking for something small because we wanted to encourage the kids to be outside. Now that we have it we are always surprised with how comfortable it is and how much we can store in it. We have spent plenty of rainy evenings indoors with the whole family and have had no issues. We one time even spent an evening in the trailer with 4 adults and 3 kids. It was a little cramped but worked out.

Have u had any problems with the bathroom sink pipes coming off under the sink like I've heard from others or water leaks from seals....or bunk door coming open or main door not shutting
@RoginaRoaming
@RoginaRoaming Жыл бұрын
We haven't had issues with the main door but we have had the other issues you mentioned. I actually discussed them in our 1 year review video (kzbin.info/www/bejne/mKTUqKBur9pgj8U). For the bathroom sink drain we zip tied a block of wood to it. It doesn't look very professional but it gets the job done and it's easy to remove if we need to work on the drain. We did that about a year and a half ago and have had no issues since. And our bunk door did open twice. Those were both when we first got it (2 years ago) and it hasn't happened since. It's possible it was due to user error but we have heard reports of other people having the same issue 🤷‍♀️

@@RoginaRoaming awesome thank u for your help I was thinking about getting that trailer cause I have a coachman Catalina 184bhs with a slide out and I'm scared to death with slide outs being problematic....so wanting to go to something without a slide....can u get the micro without the solar system or is there no option for that
@RoginaRoaming
@RoginaRoaming Жыл бұрын
It's a great trailer and it is nice to have no slide. Just one less thing to worry about. They are pre-wired for solar but the solar packages are an option. So it's easy to add if you want solar but not required.

Jayco has a 2 or 3 year warranty. What good is it when you are better off to fix it yourself. Typical, all the service to sell and little service there after.
@RoginaRoaming

Yeah, of course this will vary depending on the dealer but sadly I think it's fairly common.

Thank you for the video and sorry for My language English not that good , i had same model 171bh 2022 , i like in your model 2021 for tv outlet socket have shelve in my 2022 not also in roof top for TV antenna in your its small and location good but my 171bh its so big circle and location not good , i mean in our country meddle east we dont have that serves for TV antenna but problem i have to remove it because i want add Solar panel side by side same like your caravan , also about TV device its 3 in 1 (TV , FM and speaker) i dont like it so i add radio like any caravan and speaker in roof in side about ladder really i like it in 2023 model but as you say there is solar control that ,any way i so sorry My language English not that good and you can check my video also but in Arabic :) thanks again and best regards for you and your family Hassan from Oman

Thanks for watching! I'm not sure why they removed that shelf above the TV but then didn't raise up the TV at all. That seems kind of silly. And yeah, the newer antenna takes up a lot more space. That is where we have our extra solar panel so I can see why that would be irritating for you. Our trailer came with a sharkfin antenna instead. Glad you got it all figured out though!

It's my understanding the quality is similar across the manufacturers. There are certainly issues that come up but to us it has been well worth it. The joy the trailer brings us far exceeds any frustrations from issues.
