We are on our second used Taylor Coach, as we moved up from a 12 ft to a 19 ft. Contemplating joining the wait list for a new one, as the Taylors customize each coach to your desired specs. Couldn't be happier with the quality and customer service. The Taylors are always willing to help with advice and repairs to the older coaches, which they are proud to say they build for life. They don't advertise or go to RV shows as their happy customers are their salesforce!

My husband and I did about 2 years of research on light weight trailers and finally settled on a Taylor Coach. This summer will be our 4th with our 13' (or 12' XL I believe Brad Taylor called it! 😁) and I am already looking forward to it. The extra foot allows us to have a sink in the shower/toilet combo bathroom, and on the opposite side, an extra foot of counter space. Every TC built is custom built to the owners' wishes. We've gone 5 days using solar power (lights) and propane for fridge, stove and water heater. We LOVE our TC!!

Ive been doing plumbing for years. Ive fixed more leaks on the copper compression clamps on pex than the stainless steel pitch clamps. Ive found the stainless clamps are better suited for the environment of plumbing. They are also much easier to install.
@pineychristian6 ай бұрын
Granted this is in a residential environment vs a RV. I'm not sure if they use different pitch clamps. The ones I use are very high quality stainless steel. Also I refuse to use brass pen fittings now unless they are #1 brass fittings. Most you buy now a days are #2 yellow brass which most have a class action lawsuit on them. Other wise stick to the poly pex fittings.

One thing you may not know about the ac on a TC is it is a 11.5btu, so it can be run off a 2000watt generator. Another thing which is my favorite thing about Taylor Coaches is the levelling jacks, not stabalizing jacks, so I just pull in and crank those babies and if one side has the tires 6" off the ground, so be it😂😂😂😂🙋♀️🛻🇨🇦❤️‼️

My 2018 Jayco Eagle HT 5th wheel had 3 plumbing leaks. The first I found was on the first camping trip and was in the bathroom sink P-trap where they didn't seal the joint with enough glue. I had to purchase a new P-trap and install it while travelling between parks. Wrote to Jayco where they told me that because I tampered with it my warranty was void. The second was an outside spray port where the connection was not tight, and water stared showing up in the front cargo area. I first thought it was rain water getting in through the cargo door. The 3 third was the toilet connection and just needed tightened. All this could have been avoided it quality mattered. But in the RV industry we have come to know that there's no quality.

I live in the U.S., and when I was looking for a new truck camper in 2018, I went for the very well-built Canadian Bigfoot brand because I didn't want deal with the questionable workmanship and low budget construction materials commonly associated with American brands. The Canadian-built Bigfoots and Northern Lites are at the top of the class in quality, and typically last for decades. A fiberglass molded roof is superior to those crappy, high maintenance rubber roofs! And by the way - I still love my Bigfoot, 6 years later.

I've spoken to Brad ( Taylor) a couple of times - we're working up to replacing ours with a Taylor Coach. You're right, they are not flashy, but they are built correctly, when most mass-produced trailers are slapped together as cheaply as they can get away with. Brad told me thier trailers are intended to be generational, 30 - 40 years of use, and passed on to your kids or grandkids. The other thing you only touched on is, because they use real wood in thier construction, they are ridiculously lighter than anything else the same size. This opens up trailer ownership to people who don't want to have a larger for towing. There is an older video on thier youtoob channel that shows the complete assembly of a trailer in time lapse. I'm amazed you found a used one, they are pretty rare, around here at least. Or if they come up for sale, it doesn't stay that way very long.

First and foremost, you run a very quality channel here. I watch a number of RV channels and hands down you provide more quality feedback than anyone else, please keep it up. However, I believe you might have missed the mark on this one. To compare a small company like Taylor Coach to a behemoth like Jayco, it's like comparing apples to cucumbers. One is a small mom and pop shop with the ability to perform quality control at all levels, while the other has been building RV's at all price points for decades now. There's just no comparison here. I would say the same thing on your video you did about Grand Design/Brinkley/Alliance. Grand Design should have been removed from consideration once Winnebago bought them. Brinkley is the new kid on the block, and of course builds a better product than the other two. Alliance has been around for a number of years now and if all goes as expected, they will likely be bought by one of the big boys in the next year or two. That's how this works. That said, Brinkley will someday fall from grace and likely be bought by a large manufacturer just like everyone else. I have owned both a Grand Design and currently own an Alliance 390MP. The Grand Design was a 2017 Reflection that was a very quality 5th wheel. The 2021 390MP has also been a quality coach. However, if I were to buy either coach today, 2024 models, I am quite confident I would spend a great deal of time fixing things. I have owned an RV, many different models and types, over the last 25 years, and one thing that I learned is that you will always have to fix something. You are basically taking your vacation home and subjected it to a 5.0 earthquake every time you pull it down the road. To add injury to insult, depending on what state you live in or travel in you will do even more damage. Again, great job on the channel and keep it up. My 390 MP is too big to use as a camper and I'm trying to sell it now. That means I will be in the market for a shorter and smaller 5th wheel in the near future hopefully. So please keep the information coming as you definitely make decision making much easier.

Nice video. What made you choose a Taylor camper? Is there an American equivalent to the Taylor? Do you have any other videos on Canadian travel travelers? Thanks for plugging your courses. I’m happy with my Gulf Stream Kingsport but I will be looking into your other videos. Do you know if you can purchase a travel trailer while in Canada and bring it back to the US? Or would it be too cost prohibitive? When I lived in MD and moved to NYS I had to pay taxes on my car when registering it for NYS. I said “What!!! I paid taxes on this when I bought it in MD.” They didn’t care. It’s a law. A stupid law.

RV plumbing should be done according to code. Also RV manufacturers need to automate processes and be more like auto manufacturers. Maybe quality would improve. Another factor is warranty work and repairs. Why do you have to drop off your RV and maybe get it back in 2 months. Imagine taking your car in for an oil change and being told to drop it off and come back in a week. Unacceptable.

It is far from my first RV, and a night and day difference from older trailers I've owned. Knowing that I have a purpose for why I chose a small camper, and with a few small problems that cropped up, with inflation and inflated prices there is no way I would buy a new RV, especially with the way they are built. These small campers are not worth the MSRP the manufacturer is asking plus with the current inability to haggle the heck out of a dealer you are buying a polished turd that is actually worth as much.
