Meet Jay! 👋
Jay had spent the last 15 Years of his LIFE dealing with TMJ and Tinnitus, and after his wife had success with her treatment, Jay felt it was time for him to get looked at as well!
As Dr. Joe explains in the video, Tinnitus (ringing of the ears), is directly related to the TMJ pain, because of how close the TMJ is to the ear.
The issue itself didn't cause him too much pain, but Jay was tired of dealing with the non-stop discomfort that he felt every single day and wanted a real solution.
In the end, Jay now has to really concentrate to ever hear the ringing, and 50% Improvement overall has really changed his day-to-day life.
Jay will continue to see us at Barefoot Rehab for maintenance and to keep that ringing down as he improves each week!
If you have tinnitus or chronic pain in your jaw (TMJ Pain), comment down below so we can help you! ❤️

Hi guys - you are really doing a good job - I have been using the fascial distortion model (FDM) by Dr. Stephen Typaldos in my clinical practice for many years - the so-called "trigger band technique" and the "pinch technique" are also used for adhesiolysis thought - a very intensive, very direct technique - the advantage of the FDM is that the model makes its own diagnoses that can be understood within the model, which makes the model method-neutral and can then be used in all areas of medicine.

Teeth clenching can cause adhesions? Over lived with chronic stress& anxiety since a child. After Mom passed a couple years ago both went off the charts. My jaws became very painful from clenching I was doing without realizing in real time. I developed high pitched Tinnitus on left ear. Sometimes both ears and it fluctuates from high pitched, to pulsatile to crickets. Which I don't mind so much because it reminds me of camping. Seriously though, living with Tinnitus is torturous. Please if you can tell more about adhesions. I appreciate you posting this to help those of us suffering beyond words ❤

Hard to concentrate , so spaced out most days. I cry all the time about this stuff cause it is unbearable! My dentist diagnosed me with tmj years ago, but I didn't take his advice about tmj home care. 🤦 Once in awhile my jaw will pop loud . Its never been constant popping or locking. Just every once in awhile it happens. So I'm not sure if I pass as a real tmj sufferer. I do find massaging it out helps the tinnitus & dizziness.

After a few minutes I'm so done with talking that i stop and just walk away. I also used to grind my teeth, maybe i still am i don't know. When i bite down hard on my teeth the high pitch sound gets louder. The sound is like a old fat tv when you turn the screen on. Probably only 30 year old people and older know what I'm talking about 😅 Anyway, do you think i have TMJ? I really hope you say yes to give me some hope cause my best years have been torture.

@@drchrisstepien thanks for your reply. I’m currently seeing a chiropractor who put me in a 13 week care plan with multiple adjustment per week that tier down. It sounds like your practice but this guys plan is predicated on achieving the 45 degree angles in the neck and spine and everything else will heal. There are Eustachian tube adjustments and jaw alignments, but the program is based on the spine as the solver of all mine and other issues. Was this a similar plan Jay was on, or was he on more of a ear/sinus/jaw care plan? I realize there are no easy answers to post Covid issues, but I’m doing my best to hunt down the right one for me. If there are any care providers in the Cincinnati area that would also be helpful. Thank you so much.

Question! :) My tinnitus (high frequenzy tonal hiss) acts strange. It can go away on times where I'm not tense and feeling stressed out, but the big majority of the time it's there. It doesn't behave like chronic tinnitus, and it gets much louder when i move my jaw and/or put pressure on it, especially on the right side. My dentist and physiotherapist have found out that I have a really bad bite that's crooked, some clicking and a lot of tension in the jaw, my neck and my face. It's rare, but my jaw has also locked a few times when yawning. Could these be signs that my tinnitus comes from TMJ?

It sounds like it might be. It could be TMJ. You'll have to see an ENT doctor and maybe a musculoskeletal specialist for TMJ.
