“Political correctness is America's newest form of intolerance, and it is especially pernicious because it comes disguised as tolerance. It presents itself as fairness, yet attempts to restrict and control people's language with strict codes and rigid rules. I'm not sure that's the way to fight discrimination. I'm not sure silencing people or forcing them to alter their speech is the best method for solving problems that go much deeper than speech.” - George Carlin

Always loved Jay Leno. He made me laugh more than anyone else in the comedy business. Great, he was interviewed by Seth Mayer's, because I like him too. If he only would leave out some of his politically points. I don't care if he is a republican or democrat. He has enough material to work with, without going only after the republican's. Jay Leno never did that. He went after the happenings of the day regardless of the party. That's what made him different from anyone else, besides being a brilliant, highly intelligent, & being a very funny man.

Oh come on man, that was like 6 years ago now and it's strange that people are so one sided against Jay to this day. In fairness, NBC decided in 2004 IIRC to give the Tonight Show to Conan in 2009. At the time, Jay was host and doing very well but the BRILLIANT execs at NBC didn't think he'd be able to keep the Tonight Show at the top. Well, he did, and when he handed it over to Conan in 2009 it was still number 1 and like it or not, Jay was America's favorite late night host. Jay was reportedly very angry in 2004 with the arrangement NBC made with Conan but he saw out his contract and Conan took over. NBC had plenty of time to realize that its SUPER BRILLIANT decision in 2004 turned out to be a nightmare and they asked Jay to host a new show at 10 o clock, which is prime time, meaning Jay had to clean it up a bit and was no longer competing for late night. After the honeymoon period, things changed fast for Conan, he lost a huge amount of the audience and Jay's 10 o clock show didn't make much of a difference. Here's where people seem to get lost when they take sides... network affiliates threatened NBC over the declining viewership and NBC knew Conan wasn't going to work, so they made a proposal.. a stupid one. They proposed that Jay host a half hour show at the time slot of the Tonight Show, which would be pushed forward to after 12. Conan shot it down. His contract was bought out and NBC asked Jay to return to the Tonight Show, which he did, for five years before it went to Jimmy Fallon. Jay got all the outrage from the public and the "team coco" brigade, even though it was Jay that was initially forced to give up a show he had at number one due to the NBC executives decision making in 2004. It was the NBC execs who tried to keep Leno in the fold and then panicked when affiliates threatened the network over Conan's poor numbers. Conan has made a hell of a lot of money out of this little scandal and he's doing well for himself now on his own show. He has an established audience, a strong presence outside of TV viewers and so on. He did well out of it, and Jay has done fine for himself too. People act like Conan is a helpless victim that lost everything, but in reality he took a shot at the Tonight Show and only lasted months because he hemorrhaged viewers. People said he needed more time and that might be true, but things had changed a lot in TV and entertainment by 2009, nobody had "time" to get it right anymore, not with the growth of the Internet and other forms of entertainment the ongoing decline of TV viewership. When he left NBC, his PR people made Jay look like a really bad guy, because they had to, because Conan as the victim of a greedy Jay Leno is a better public image than Conan who knocked the Tonight Show off the top of late night as the host. Jay, on the other hand, handled it more like a professional and then stood aside in 2014 for Jimmy Fallon, who in my opinion is not as good as Jay and not as good as Conan either. That's the thing, I like Conan a lot, I watch his show and he seems like a genuinely nice guy who loves his job, but that doesn't mean I have to go all tribal on it and start hating Jay Leno because he took his job BACK when NBC realized they made a huge mistake five years beforehand. Don't cry for Conan, he's doing just fine!

Joel Thievin You pretty much summed up EVERY television network, EVER. If a show doesn't do the ratings the network and/or affiliates think it should, it will get pulled. Even if Leno decided to just up and leave after he was done with The Tonight Show in 2009, NBC would've gotten someone else to replace Conan.

Seth Myers is almost as boring interviewing a guest as Jay used to be. Almost.

it's funny the way americans are all so sensitive about ethnicities and nationalities, and yet they dramatically fail to understand the simple truth that an italian is someone who's actually born in italy, europe, and that what they address as an italian is really just an american who may have had distant relatives from italy but hasn't even seen the place, let alone eaten the food or understood the culture. by an actual italian born in italy, europe.

+Endezeichen Grimm Fotomat: places no bigger than a broom closet, set up in shopping malls, where you could drop off film to be developed. Very 70s and 80s. A number of them had converted to Coffee On The Go places around 20-25 years ago.

Thumbs up, if you (like me) scrolled down to the comment session as soon as the interview was done just to see the comments! Jay Leno's everyone favorite rag doll! And yes, he brought it unto himself...but if Letterman forgave him, why shouldn't we? #TeamCoco all day though!

I like Jay, cause he's intelligent, witty and full of common sense. He can be a little condescending toward others, but over-all, he was one of the best and NBC was stupid to let him go. Love Fallon, Jimmy's awesome, but Jay should have been on the air another 4 or 5 years
