You're using religion to talk about the same people who rule over the bible and use it to control the population.. the bible means nothing because white man wrote it in their own context and in a way that they could use it to control the masses.

This film is describing the evils of the music industry! In the beginning everything is going fine, the roles are being played and everyone is in sync. But then one of the closest characters in the show to Ross puts her finger up to her mouth telling him to keep quiet, while leading him behind the scenes. That's where everything takes place. In the dark. Where no one can see you but everyone has been. And after you do what is required of you, you win. It's all about the love of money. La La Land is a place you can get stuck in easily because of the benefits. The love of money is the root of all evil, right? So as long as you're in love with money you'll continue to be stuck in La La Land and do anything for it until Moonlight illuminates the darkness and causes your mindset to change. Y'all niggas still signing deals?...Still?

Naw b nice try tho. It's actually about how black media is always being shut out always being hushed we have to promote and we have to enjoy it or else we get clout. Most of us end up signing deals with white people or those individuals who snub us of are true glory. It represents all media "y'all niggas still signing deals" relates too why keep conforming to the trash of society why keep working for them why change us as black individuals too join a white broadcaat

Friends (copy/mediocre/wildly popular/accolades) = La La Land Living Single (original/well put together/under appreciated)= Moonlight One of the best lines (play on words): 'Winners are La La Land' (it was announced as the best movie even though Moonlight in actuality had won). Love this video, the actors, and the creative minds/team behind the whole thing.

Friends was mediocre? Really? It lasted 10 seasons for a reason and that's cause it had great writing and actors. Maybe the concept was stolen, but that doesn't make it mediocre because of that. Yes, there were massive problems with diversity in shows in the 90s and there still are today, but that doesn't mean that Friends, wasn't good, get out of here!

The show lasted 10 seasons because it was mediocre. The American public eats up run-in-the-mill and repetitive storylines. e.i MASH, Big Bang Theory, NCSI, etc, etc.

Love this concept and it will definitely resonate with alot of people. It is also a testament to the fact that the black community doesn't have relatable sitcoms anymore. In the 90's black sitcoms like Living Single, Martin, A Different World and many others were cancelled at 5, 6, maybe 7 seasons; many people may not realize but 'Friends' had one the longest runs on tv with 10 seasons. Its really sad and as proof they just cancelled 'The Carmichael Show" at just only 3 seasons.

I'm not JayZ so I will never truely know his intentions or his thoughts on this video unless he explains it. I think his work has a way of letting us make our own perspectives. Watching this made me think how little black people are represented in the acting world. They never get the main roles or the recognition they deserve. Towards the end when they announced the wrong winner it showed that even though they one the white movie still managed to steal/take the spotlight. In the outtakes when the guy is taking phone calls it explains how black people are always offered the ridiculous roles and buy the actors with huge amounts of cash when they deserve more. Once again these are just my thoughts, what are yours?

The song references how niggas think they winning when they actually lose, just like the la la land > Moonlight situation. In other words niggas are stuck in la la land (an illusion). And the rappers sounding the same, wearing the same things, f'ing the same girls.....no distinction. But they swear they're winning.
@aisongpool
@aisongpool 7 жыл бұрын
The video references Moonlight Oscar awards for Best picture which was mistaken with la la land......Moonlight has a primarily black cast compared to la la land. And here you have a typical tv show that reruns for years, like seinfeld too that has no black cast...etc.

HangingWithBoudi Ok so someone on Instagram made a post about it but basically Friends was a ripoff of another popular 90s tv show called Living Single starring Queen Latifah. In an interview she did Queen Latifah told the interviewer that the man who created Friends was asked one day if he could take one show from tv and claim it as his own which one would it be and he said Living Single. Of course some years later he would produce a show with the same concept except its a group of white friends instead of black. Now this video just shows what it would be like if Friends were black but as you can see the show seems to rely on corny jokes that "No offense" only corny white ppl would find funny and it's quite redundant because technically there was already a black friends. Black entertainers, directors, and writers have never had to copy off of white tv shows or movies because we are a very cultured and creative people contrary to popular belief. Yet they constantly do it with us, except it's more watered down and lazy and in turn the white version always gets more credit than the black version. At least that's what the video stands for. The song itself has a bit of a different message from the video.
