When the kids were teenagers (10+ years ago), many times we hung a bed sheet from the tree in the back yard and watched movies. I don't own a projector, but borrowed one from a friend OR from work, every time. For sound, I have an old Sony rack system, where I just took the amplifier and hooked it up to the computer with some old crappy floor speakers. Inside, an audio techno enthusiast would have shuddered, but outside, it didn't matter, it sounded great. The whole setup was a bit janky, but again we did it many times, all the kids loved it. Many, many good memories from those movie events.

Jay! For Jerky, Get yourself some Golden Mountain cooking sauce (You have to buy this in Asian market). I don't do ground meat, but rather I have the store slice my top-round roast into strips (length -ways) and I use the golden mountain, mixed with sweet Korean spicy BBQ sauce. I don't have a full recipe on me, but I can tell you that the Golden Mountain is good on EVERYTHING (beef, poultry, pork, etc. ) I have followed you for years. Thanks for continuing your work and videos!

I think I'm late to the party, but I just saw that rotating Christmas tree stands are a thing and are pretty cheap. For your daughter's lamp, maybe attach it to one of those, build a nice cover for the stand, and the lamp can continuously rotate, showing her both sides of cut outs as they come around. On the top/"lid" of the lamp, you can also drill some holes so "stars" are projected to the ceiling, that will rotate as well. Just a thought :)

Camping in a place with no bars for cell service - perfect. Looks like a lovely campsite! $20 for water and electricity? What a deal!

Choctaw Lake looks sweet. We go fm Bham to Memphis & Jackson a couple of times, but that is a little off track. I guess your thumb is all good since you didn't mention it.

Jay if you want to make a random video about making jerky I'm sure I'm not the only one who would watch it. Also have you thought about making a smoker?

You want a projector that has a bulb instead of a LED. A bulb has a much brighter picture than an LED projector. Now, when the bulb needs replacing, it’s going to be expensive, but you’re talking thousands of hours on the bulb. For a sound system, I just used a 100 dollar receiver that accepted sound input from the projector. Look for wireless if you can find it for the speakers /sound bar. Wires stretched out & little humans running around in the dark is a perfect storm of wailing little humans.
