That's because your heart, blood vessels, lungs and diaphragm got "jacked up" due to cardio. Cardio is a real endurance booster. When you take deep breaths and that too frequently, it gives a whole new level of satisfaction. My lifts are better after cardio session and I can do more reps and sets with much heavier weights. Depends your daily calorie index. To much cardio can break down and affect the synthesis of protein and recovery and hypertrophy and in some scenario you should not run daily, especially if your are gaining muscle and you are close to your fitness weight. That's why most of the runner develop a different kind of hypertrophy to a person that do exercise it in the gym, also runner usually have skinny legs, strong but not at the same level of a person that train in the gym. Running it's the best exercise for cardio.

The moment I realized that cardio is primarily for your heart health and not for fat loss I begin to notice real changes in physique. When you use cardio for fat loss things will take sideways along the way. Diet + strength training + sleep = fat loss. The only time cardio burn fat is when the cardio put you in calorie deficit.
@MassaMainio
@MassaMainio 10 ай бұрын
You have absolutely zero idea what you’re talking about. You can do all the strength training in the world and you still won’t burn fat unless you’re on a calorie deficit. In fact. you burn more calories during cardio training than you do during resistance training. Optimally you do both, but just for losing fat it doesn’t matter one bit how you achieve calorie deficit as long as you do.
@maxbelfort9081
@maxbelfort9081 10 ай бұрын

Assuming he cuts 500 calories so now he’s consuming 2000 calories a day that’s a calorie deficit. Now if he chooses to eat those 2000 calories with foods that will skyrocket insulin across the entire day then how the hell is he gonna lose fat? High insulin/blood sugar does not equal losing fat.

I would say if your trying to build muscle and also wanna have a good and strong and healthy cardiovascular system you I would recommend low intensity cardio like walking. Doing a lot of running or cycling could potentially affect your recovery. But then again there are people who run a lot and lift weights and have really good physiques naturally. But I would say if your gonna do that, make sure you getting good sleep in and getting a good amount of calories unless your using intense cardio as a tool to lose weight.

I bought into the high intensity cardio fad for a long time. Especially since I have always been an athlete. Stuff like hill sprints, burpees, Prowler, battle rope, etc. But in all honesty, it never did a ton for fat loss and ultimately effects recovery and sleep patterns. Trying to keep up the performance training and lifting was a losing battle. Now I do 20 min of max incline treadmill walking not holding on 3x per week after full body lifting sessions. Other than that I walk outdoors 1-2hrs daily just to be generally active. I feel so much better, I sleep way better, I'm stronger, and way leaner with a much higher BMR and maintenence calorie intake.

I think as long as you're still eating tons of lean proteins, getting good sleep, and proper hydration, cardio will not affect your gains.

Nice . I just started incorporating cardio into my workouts this past month. I always have been doing 5 - 10 minutes sprint on the treadmill before i hit my weights (if you even consider that cardio) good to know i should switch that to the end of my session instead of the start . Your the best man . Love your content

I know cardio is very important to leaning out im 33 years old now and 10 years ago i was more than capable of doing cardio, resistance training with weights at gym and calorie deficit. Now cardio makes me ridiculously hungry beyond belief, which will seriously damage my calorie deficit!
