Here is the long awaited recap of one of the most notorious figures that has ever been on Catfish. This serial catfisher is so bad, that Nev and Kamie felt it important to host the one and only Intervention that has ever played out on the show. Something about seeing watching episodes with this person in it, disturbs any inner peace I may have. But, it was highly requested, and I love y'all, so of course I had to cover it! You can tell Ashley is the type of person that everyone in her life knows she’s a compulsive liar but they just don’t call it out when she does it they just let her lie, that’s why she’s very not prepared when they start asking questions. Had that problem with a person in my college friend group we would never listen to what they said because we knew they were lying and the few times we would entertain it they would have no clue what to say….

Thats my family with my mother. Everyone lets her act the way she does and now my grandmother is at risk so theyre all trying to figure out how to deal with her after avoiding her for so long. It pisses me off cause i grew up thinking i was the problem for having a problem with her and how she treats me and lies i could have really benefitted psychologically from another adult stepping in to call her out on her bullshit as a kid.

This is an example of why children who are bullied need access to counseling. Like her friend said Ashely developed this harsh hostile attitude as a defense mechanism againts all the bullying she was facing. Her self-esteem is nonexistent. Only someone with no self-worth would have over a thousand catfish accounts. Her days are spent escaping herself through these profiles and through overeating. Receiving couselling as a child could have helped Ashely find a healthy coping mechanism to handle the bullying and helped her build her self-esteem. The time she spent escaping herself in her teens could've gone towards building herself. All of that is very idealistic of course but if we work hard to make mental health services more available, especially to children, we can keep children from becoming like Ashely.
