Hi Everyone! If you want to see a complete Row by Row in real time demonstration of this square, please see our Live Workshop here: kzbin.info4gW3f_6N0GE?feature=share Other Important Tips: 1. This square is essentially a Solid Double Crochet Granny Square with loops added at each corner and atop the middle stitch of each side (every row). 2. Row 1: Side Count = 3, Row 2: Side Count = 7, Row 3: Side Count = 11, Row 4: Side Count = 15, Row 5: Side Count = 19, Row 6: Side Count = 23 3. There is an equal number of stitches on either side of the Middle Stitch in each side. The Middle Stitch always gets the Ch-10 Loop.

This month's pattern is one that goes much slower than the previous ones, but there's always one or two every year that take more time. I didn't need any stitch markers as this square gets really square after round two and it's clear since the second round where are the corners. I had a bit of problems with finding the tops of stitches during the few rounds of the first square (I'm making four squares for each pattern), but then it was so easy to crochet without even looking at the video. Jayda, I really appreciate that you told us how many stitches are per side in every round. That was the most helpful hint to keep everything in order. A bit of advice: start braiding loops after the second round. It really helped me to see everything much better.
@JaydaInStitches8 ай бұрын

That way all the cousins could have had more similar blankies. Ah well, thank you for the pattern Teacher Jayda! I will definitely be using it in the future! TIP: If you feel the braids are too loose. Twist them. When your pulling loop 2 through 1. Twist loop 2 first, and then pull through loop 1. I personally do this, cause it makes the braid feel sturdier to me.

This month’s square is super lovely. I have a question though. It is considerably larger than the previous ones. Will you address this in the instructions for the final assembly of the blanket?

Hi we address this at the end of the video! It's the same number of rows and stitches. Tension can vary from person to person as can the way a pattern unfolds. My March square is exactly the same size as my January square and my February square is the same height as the other two and just a smidgen skinnier on account of the pattern.

Jayda, This is a lovely square! Watching the video, however, I’m feeling a little intimidated! I hope I can do it! I’ll give it the old college try. By the way, you look beautiful today! I love your sweater. Did you crochet the collar of the sweater?

HI Janet, you can do it! Just take it slow 💗 Yes! That's my collar, and I love that thing I wear it all the time. We have a tutorial on it here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/a2jLYqucZpiDpNU

Am I right? Are there 5 dc before each corner and 6 dc after each corner on round 3??? I'm grateful Jayda is walking us through this. I don't think I could do it on my own.

Hi Donna! You can also check out our Live Workshop now (I pinned it in the comment up top) on row 3 there are 11 sts per side, if you're working right handed it will be 6, loop, 5. OR you can look at it like this: 5 dc, middle dc plus ch-10 loop, 5 dc next corner etc.
