It was explained in the mid January tutorial she did, told all youll need to complete this blanket… hope that helps. It may be included at the bottom of this tutorial…,
@JaydaInStitches9 ай бұрын
Hi! It depends on how many squares you want to make, all explained in the January video (link in description). Each 6 row square uses roughly 45 y.

How about if you change were the V stitch goes and do a full side on the V side would it tend to go more to the right or left???
@JaydaInStitches8 ай бұрын
Hi! The solid double crochet pushes the square out to make it a little wide. The V-st can be compressed because of it's ch-1 in the middle, but the square overall will act square once it's attached into a project OR blocked. The stitch count is the important thing. When you always crochet in the same direction, a "lean" appears over time, but if you change directions each row (by flipping the square and working in the opposite direction) you won't get a lean.

Hi Jayda, how many granny squares do you need in a row, vertically or horizontally, because two isn't going to be enough to make a blanket - if you know what I mean! Please forgive my poor explanation....Thank you, Angela
@JaydaInStitches9 ай бұрын
Hi Angela, it depends on how big you want to make your blanket. We explained this in the January video (link in description) so you can watch that to see how we explain it for THIS project, but if you are just making these squares for another blanket, then it depends again on how big you want your blanket and how big you make your squares. We have a video on how to figure that out here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/lXTTgKVpfa2Ie6s
@KimMesser5149 ай бұрын
Hi JAYDA, I tried a ton of different stitch markers. My favorite are the larger of the plastic safety pin style for my corners. I've found I don't have to move them every single row because they are always in my line of site. I am, when I'm feeling better going to dabble with making some stitch markers with glass beads & silver lobster clasps.
@JaydaInStitches9 ай бұрын
Hi Kim! Whatever works best 😁
@KimMesser5149 ай бұрын
I can't squeeze like safety pins, clips like those. Etc. but the big plastic safety pins are about the easiest and least painful for me. I know awhile ago, people were looking for suggestions. Only problem with these is they are way more expensive than the little one or the circles.

@JaydaInStitches9 ай бұрын
Hi Diane, if you're starting this square with the intention to make it large, start turning at the end of each row right from the beginning, that way there's consistency throughout the square 😊

I’m doing 9 rows each square. First time doing a granny square blanket. How do I keep the stiches the same count when each month the squares are different ???
@JaydaInStitches8 ай бұрын
Hi Sue, if you make all your squares 9 rows each, then each row will always have the same number of stitches. For example row 6 of January and row 6 of February's squares were the same stitch count. If you follow the pattern and increase up to 9 rows, you should see the same math pattern in Row 9 of every design: each side will be 35 sts and the entire row will be 140 plus 4 ch-2 corners.
@suemaxwell52268 ай бұрын
Well, I’m doing something wrong then . Will have to go back and figure it out

I think the pattern is great, but I’m a little confused - in the first row, why does one side have only 2dc and the rest have 3?
@JaydaInStitches9 ай бұрын
Hi! Each row must have the same number of stitches per side, whether they are DCs or CHs. In Row 1, you have 2 V-sts (dc, ch 1, dc) and 6 dc (3 per side).

Looking at his month's square I realize that I cinched up the center of last month's square really tight, but I will open them a little. I want them all to match. I realize that I will not come apart since we started with a chain 5 instead of a magic ring or cinch circle.
@JaydaInStitches9 ай бұрын
Yes! The open centre gives the stitches a chance "to breathe", as it were, everything moves a little easier 😊

Hi! You might find it helpful to try a small (3 row) sampler of a V-Stitch Granny Square: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mWmuYoOYq51jq7M and a similar sized sampler of a solid double crochet granny square: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mnuak3qqa5JsoMk then just tell yourself that you're simply alternating between the 2 concepts as you work around the square 😊

@@JaydaInStitches I do, I just stop it and rewind, I just get overwhelmed a little, it's not that the instructions are to fast it's when you're saying what to do with out seeing it, if that makes sense. I been crocheting for over 35 years and it's always fun to learn a new granny square.
