It's a difference of mentality though, you can bet your ass Law will have been training and refining these things, whereas Kidd will have just tried to brute force everything. If Haki is willpower, you need discipline to refine it. Law was willing to put the work in, Kidd was just like "nah, I'm strong enough"... chief lost an arm and still didn't learn that lesson.

I thought it was obvious that they can't permanently have the flame on but so many people didn't realize that. It seems to be a stamina drain or it just has a time limit but Zoro legit says that you just have to wait until the flame goes out. It's never stated that it gets turned off by the user anywhere in the manga.

TL;DR, the Ulti > Katakuri meta comes from Kaido stating Post-Udon Base Luffy is stronger than Pre-Udon Gear 4 Luffy. Therefore Luffy needing gears against Ulti means she's physically stronger than Katakuri. Nobody actually believed she beat him, just that she has more muscular strength.

I've seen this comment many times about Kaido saying "He has Future sight all along and never used it." No he has not. I read back the chapter and watched the episode. Kaido is saying to Luffy, "Oh is this how you do it?" He is basically trying to learn it at that time when he saw Luffy doing it. Showing that he is also a genius in battle, learning new stuff. Basically same like Luffy and Katakuri's fight. Luffy learning that while he is fighting Katakuri.
