I love how the fight against Gear 5 Luffy just solidifies Kaido as the strongest. My guy fought Luffy and defeated him 2 times, pretty much killed him the second time before he got plot resurrected, fought the scabbards, Yamato, Law, Kidd, Zoro, Killer and is carrying Onigashima while all this was going on. And he still puts up a pretty decent fight against Gear 5, sometimes its not even clear whether it will be enough or not. Imo, if they would just meet up, both of them fully rested and Luffy would go gear 5 from the beginning, he still wouldn’t be able to KO Kaido before he runs out of gas. Kaido is really just built different. Not to crap on Luffy though, this 19 year old kid is out there giving Kaido the fight of his life.

*Luffy just having the time of his life and it was fun to see…Nothing out of this world with the animation and enjoying seeing what Gear 5th can do. Love the cartoonish feel of this with that old school anime art style(reminds of that one Digimon movie) and just enjoying the ride man…I also feel that they could’ve still had these goofy and cartoony elements with the smoother more current art style like when Luffy did Red Roc but I’ll take this too and this isn’t even the conclusion of this fight so who knows how Toei will do this for the finale*

In defense of the Gorosei, Luffy wasn't really on their radar until Marine Ford, then he disappeared for two years. It's only been about two months and they straight tried to have him assassinated. The best part is that they actually succeeded however it caused Luffy to awaken simultaneously awakening their worst fears.
