I own a 2016 CLS 63S with the 5.5 ltr engine, list was £96k, i paid £74k with discount. love it, love it, love it. Then they discontinued with the new model CLS, and launched this. Not for me, ridiculously expensive @ £135k (no discount folks), too much chrome, engine sounds too “boy racer” now with pops and bangs, lacks the CLS’ class and refinement, lacks the CLS ride comfort (although the CLS could be stiffened up a lot with a push of a button), much less space in the back seats than the CLS. Sorry Mercedes, you lost a loyal customer with this decision.

They created this, because they found they could charge people a lot more for things they aren't going to use. They invented the segment with the cls, which was gorgeous, and the market is so crazy that they are able to sell the exact same car with a big premium. And they've also made the new cls indistinguishable from the cla and first glance, which doesn't help either. When you saw a cls 5 or 8 years ago, you knew it was something special. @@JayEmmOnCars - Absolutely! The reason I made this comment was only because you made a comment and appeared to back it up with the visual evidence - which wasn't at all convincing. It was the juxtaposition of the comment and the video not really matching that made me say something. In all other regards your videos can't be faulted! The change from low to high(er) speed would give a better contrast and we can then judge on our own just how quickly it changes - like a 0-60 shot for example? No illegal behaviour required, plus it doesn't need to be timed - every man and his dog does that - but it would give the visual contrast your comment implied.

Honestly, I don't know. I recently bought a second hand Peugeot 508 and within about half an hour, I had to pull over to turn off the beeping sound it made every time I went near an area that could have a speed camera in it. It baffles me to think that the previous owners could have driven that car with those noises for 10 years and 150 000 miles

In my humble opinion, Italians do it better on these fields. A Ferrari FF or a Maserati Quattroporte or even a Gran Turismo do it better.

Depreciation. That's why no one buys these super AMG's. The "65" AMG range also died a slow death as pretty much no one bought one when you could buy a Bentley or similar instead. Mercedes business model (monthly payments kept low by unrealistic baloon payments) means that pretty much every model in their range suffers from horrendous depreciation and makes no sense if bought any other way new than on a lease or PCP plan. Maserati did the same. This level of depreciation is amplfied on AMG models and any car over £100K list. It's a shame, they produce lovely cars but the sheer scale of depreciation kills them as an ownership prospect.
@johnguidetti58393 жыл бұрын
The 65 V12 range was cut because Mercedes and various other manufactures have to cut the Co2 emotions as a company or they get big fines. Hence why the new C63 is a inline 4 but the E63 is still a V8 although the C63 sold like hot cakes.

Respect your reviews and knowledge, but I don’t agree. I had one of these for a couple of months, and I really rated it. It’s difficult (if not impossible) to find a car that’s a great all rounder, but the AMG GT 63 was the closest I’ve ever found. Drove it non stop from Gloucestershire to the North East and it was sublime. Also found it very playful on B roads. I will say that build quality was dire - like all modern Mercedes There you go, I guess we are all different.

AMG's version of a Gen 1 Panamera. They will need time to make it look better, just like Porsche did. EDIT: This thing has more bings and bongs then my 2021 Toyota Corolla Hybrid, that's sayin' something to those in the know.

While I'm sure what you say is true.... It is gorgeous to look at, and the interior is Beautiful. My phone is always beeping too so I can put up with that! I have driven a few Mercedes. I'm 35 years old, I've owned all sorts of fast/expensive stuff...owned a brand new Merc over a decade ago...this leaves me so cold, as does most new stuff. Maybe I'm just getting old but everything now days seems over sprung, too big, too turbocharged, with terrible steering...I've stopped buying new cars. I have five cars now and the newest was made in 2005. I don't think I'll buy anything newer.

How I long for the days when you put a key in the ignition,turned the a/c on or off,maybe put an electric window down but other than wipers or lights that was pretty much it,but if you wanted it switched on you switched it on,these modern cars can drive you crazy with bonging and automatic systems.
