So have you decided to make Warsaw your home now? I have been to Warsaw myself and was there before Brexit. I came for a long weekend and had to visit the Polytechnic of Warsaw's Mathematics department. Foreign people have to get a certificate called B1 hence my long weekend tour. The exam itself was a waste of time but I met some very nice people from the former Soviet Republics who wanted to settle in Poland so had to take the examination. Freezing cold with ice and snow on the ground, Warsaw towards the end of November was not the best time to travel to a place like that. A moze latem bede znowu w Krakowie i moge przyjechac ku Warszawie pociagiem na kilka dni, zobaczymy. Trzymajcie sie!

Great question Michael! Basically, you can say that we have just started our series of travels, so the longer we manage to be smart and start making real money, we will probably continue until we get bored 😂 We thought to make our base between Poland and England, so that from time to time time to see family and shoot videos! Poland is definitely colder in the warmer half of the year - in this video we were filming at the beginning of March and we were also freezing 🥶 Thank you for watching!

Spent two nights in Warsaw before my final stop to Budapest few days before xmas. Stayed at this apartment style hotel room and the room is like a one bedroom apartment, modern and tastefully designed and good service and costs like SGD70+ per night and located in the central of Warsaw. Gutted I got food poisoning on my first full day. Did a free walk tour to learn about the dark history of Poland during the Germany invasion.

It's great you had a chance to dive into Poland's history a bit because its turbulent past explains a lot about the current state and culture 😉 Actually, the accommodation cost is quite affordable but with the rapid development and inflation the prices have been constantly rising! It's a shame you got the food poising but maybe also because of a different bacteria? I had the same situation in high-developed Asian countries where the food was great 👍

@@JayandKarolina travelling is all about learning the country's cultures and history and I used the couchsurfer app a lot to meet likeminded travellers to hangout. Yes it was a bummer and I was having dinner with a few others on my first night at a local polish restaurant and a light breakfast the next day. But I remembered after the history walk, went to the foodcourt with an American guy and halfway through, started feeling unwell and vomited in the restroom. Went straight back to the hotel and immediately KO. Woke up feeling better and I realised inlost my Moncler beanie and searched the hotel lobby the whole evening and thank god the hotel concierge found it and kept it for me :)

@@JayandKarolina it is not your fault, rather the fault of your girlfriend who should have translated the word better, pyszne jedzenie or smaczne jedzenie. Dobry is simply the masculine form of the adjective and dobre is the neuter form of the singular adjective. I was simply questioning the choice of words not any grammatical issues.

We are probably the only nation in the world where people don't smile when a foreigner tries to speak our language which is quite difficult and your pronunciation, Jay, is very good. Sorry. The French are the same. Doesn't matter how good your French is (mine was excellent once) they would always smirk/sneer when you speak it. Or pretend they don't understand. Especially waiters and shop assistants.
@JayandKarolinaАй бұрын
Yes, that's so true Izabela... Why is that? For me as a visitor from abroad it is unfortunately an unpleasant experience, because I don't know if people are upset, angry or if they don't want tourists haha. That's another thing - we came to the conclusion with Karolina that whenever a person doesn't understand or doesn't want to speak they pretend not to hear you or just go away. It's very sad because a smile and a little gesture or using the translator would solve sometimes or in most cases the issue 😥 In my mind there's no reason to be ashamed of anything.

Warsaw is still not a modern city comparing other capital cities.I know it was destroyed and it was renovated but there are still many things to change such as many ruined buildings, graffiti on walls and many oldfashioned technological solutions(e.g.lack of lifts).There are nice places worth visiting but comparing other capitals in the world there is still a lot to do in Warsaw.Warsaw in not tourist oriented(lack of big shops with beautiful souvenirs like e.g.in Vienna, the museums are still not developed to global level).I strongly recommend visiting Vienna to see how the city can be beautifully managed and developed(Wien Hauptbahnhof is amazing, many beautiful buildings in excellent condition, cheaper toilets for citizens than in Warsaw,many well developed attractions and amazing transport connections).
@JayandKarolina4 ай бұрын
It's true, Warsaw could still be improved in many respects. You've mentioned Vienna here - the cradle of European culture, senses and art and, of course, the capital of the historical monarchy. However, in terms of prices and the standard of living, Warsaw is a city that rose like a phoenix from the ashes and we really couldn't get enough of modern solutions :)

Try visiting it in the summer though. Like most places, it 'comes alive' with a bit of sunshine. I remember I was in Warsaw in late November some years back and it was absolutely freezing. I had to walk through some of the streets close to the main railway station and make my way to the Polytechnic of Warsaw. I was taking my Polish language examination and I came to Poland in a new pair of shoes that were not 'broken in.' A big mistake, I was in absolute agony so at the last minute I had to borrow a pair of old sports shoes from a lad with whom I was staying. As it was, the shoes were split with holes in them! Just imagine how cold it was for me walking through the ice and snow of a wintry Warsaw with a pair of shoes with holes in them and I had to pass my Polish B1 citizen exam at the same time 'to boot.' I always remember my short experience in Warsaw, Poland in winter. Spring is a much nicer time to visit Eastern Europe. Anyway, as it was, all went to plan and I still got 89% even with such cold toes!
