This is a semi-regular charity show. For the last 25 years or so, Eric has hosted this festival every 3-4 years or so. It benefits a drug treatment center he started on the island of Antigua. It's usually like a 3-4 day Festival with 20 or so different guitar legends each playing a set and Eric comes out and jams with them. There's a million great performances from these shows.

@@jameshelm2847 No. Stevie Ray Vaughn died in 1990 after a show in Wisconsin. Clapton held the first charity concert for his rehab clinic in 1999 at Madison Square Garden (KZbin has a bunch of videos from that show). "I don't know how much they practice".... it's safe to assume: not at all for a jam like this. On that level of musicianship, the guys know the songs they play, maybe just arrange when they solo. "Jingo" is just one chord for most of the time. The rest is simple: open your ears and your soul for the band you jam with and do your thing.

Yes the Crossroads guitar festival benefits the Crossroads alcohol and drug rehab center. It use to be an annual event in Chicago every year. Now it goes to different cities. If I started naming clips or songs of Clapton to watch I'd be here all night However there are a few audio songs to suggest and or video if you choose: 1. The Core- either from the original studio recording or the 2014 live will do. 2. Cocaine- Specifically from the album - "Just one night live". It's from 1980, hell that whole live album is Clapton in all his glory especially the cut "Blues Power" or "Double Trouble" just fantastic. Anyway gonna bounce. Peace ✌️

Great reaction as always. The Crossroads Guitar Festivals are a goldmine of great musicians and unusual collaborations. It's a charity concert hosted by Eric Clapton to raise funds for his drug treatment center in Antigua. Between 2004 and 2019 there have been 5 events. Some of the musicans that have taken part are: BB King, Buddy Guy, Keith Richards, Peter Frampton, Steve Winwood, Sheryl Crow, Jimmie Vaughn, Robert Cray, Booker T, Joe Walsh, Derek Trucks, Doyle Bramhall II, John Mayer, ZZ Top and many more. If you want to see more of Clapton playing the guitar like he does in this video, you should check out his performance of "I shot the sheriff" from the 2004 Crossroads Festival or "Cause We've Ended as Lovers" together with Jeff Beck, also from the 2004 Crossroads Festival or "Little Queen of Spades" from the 2007 Crossroads Festival.
