Ok I know you have to see this comment because I got here first. This band was probably the greatest live bar band of the 1970's and they took that show to the arenas. They had two live records and on each one there is a track you have to hear and definitely not the studio versions or any other live versions. These are the definitive versions of these two songs and they are ICONIC on Classic Tracks radio. The first is from Blow Your Face Out and the track is Mustve Got Lost (Peter does this crazy intro rap that is legendary). The other is from Full House Live and is a twofer called Wammer Jammer/Hard Drivin Man. Wammer Jammer is probably the best harmonica solo ever recorded live. ESPECIALLY THAT VERSION. I'm begging Jamel please do those two tracks. I can't wait to listen to them with you. You are going to LOOOOOOVE those two tracks.

@@TonyTheBassPlayer1 I'm just a bit disappointed he started with their late 80's stuff. Their 70's material is so much raw'er and direct. Just so much material, people are unaware of. Once you hear, you're like, "oh, yeah.".

My dad used to be a DJ for a radio station that played rock in the late 70s and early 80s. He literally got to see all the biggest bands in concert and he said the J Geils Band had the best energy and put one the best shows he's ever seen. That always stuck with me considering he saw everyone from Aerosmith to Journey to Boston.

My memory of this song is the second time I went to Disneyland, in 1982. We drove up from San Diego and I was about 3 months pregnant. While we were waiting in line for the People Mover ride, there was a place to eat across the way and all of a sudden a little stage came up out of the ground and the band on it played this song. If you like harmonica music ( and I know you do) Magic Dick is one of the best ever. You have been hitting the radio friendly MTV video songs so far. It's time you graduate to the more party side of the band. Please react to some of these: Whammer Jammer (crazy good harmonica). As i recall the title Freeze Frame referred to the popularity of photography in the 80s. This was before the age of digital photos and animation, back when snap shots and video production had to rely on the creativity of the photographer not the computer. Not saying it was better but it was so much harder to get quality images. The digital camera has made everyone a photographic genius. I loved that song and album.

Their 60s & 70s music was way more blues/funk than this. You HAVE to try "Give It to Me"!

FREEZE FRAME was released in 1981. Get your facts correct.

@@markdowse3572 My facts are correct; "Freeze Frame" shows the New Wave and pop influences they had started to highlight with 1980's "Love Stinks." From their first LP in 1970 through "Sanctuary" (1978), they were centered around blues, r&b, and funk influences. I saw them several times in New England between 1977 and 1981 and their shows kept pretty faithful to the 70s vibe, not the 80s pop so much.

@@mattshaw6180 I was not talking about distant references. The release date was 1981.

Peter Wolf is one of the most entertaining front men live in concert you would ever see back in the day. His live J Geils Band 1977 "Musta Got Lost" full rap about Reputa the Buta was so great. Since I know you love your feel good music, definitely check out their "Do I" video. It's fun from start to finish & musically just so great.
