Honestly I owe so much credit to Jayla for my success. I really think of you as my big sister, Even though I am only at like 10k subscribers and just started my business a couple of months ago. You have literally paved the way for me, I started watching you when I was in highschool and now I am about to be a junior. Now when ppl ask me how I stay motivated and what inspired me (which I still find crazy) I always refer people to your channel. Like without Jayla I wouldn't have "Been the girl that just decided to go for it"

Crazy how far both of u have came, Ive been subscribed to you since you were at 100 subscribers and when Jayla just started college

Wow. I'm damn near speechless. After watching you for so many years, I actually forget that you're a FULL-TIME student. Like of course, I've watched your college vlogs so I know you're enrolled in school, but to hear you list each of your accomplishments is like, whoa. And major congrats on generating over $10,000 in sales in less than two weeks of launching Glam Textures. When I read the comments about "the hair industry is so over-saturated" "all these IG folk wanna start hair companies now," I immediately thought, "Ok, but you have Honda, Ford, Lexus, Audi, Bugatti, but you never hear anyone complaining about the thousands of car models that exist." And the same thing goes for people who were complaining about the price. Like you said, there's a market for everything, and while some people are fine whipping a Toyota, there are others who can actually afford to purchase a Maserati without hesitation. But I digress. I'm so proud of you girl, keep grinding!!

You're such an inspiration Jayla!!! I'm 38 and I still haven't accomplished everything I want to yet, but what you said in the beginning of your vlog that you retweeted that Raven Elise said is so true. Continuing to work towards something is a goal that you're reaching to achieve, then once you get it you've succeed. Always work to excel and be even greater than you could even imagine. God Bless you beautiful young woman and keep being a motivation to yourself, your sisters and all women👍🏽

honestly i use to say that there are too much hair companies, makeup artists, etc. but i had to come out that box. there is over 7 billion people on the plant everyone will not go to the same person. that is where creativity comes in for you to be different and stand out. I had a vision from last summer to start a online clothing store (making DIY personalized shirts, hats, etc). and i was discourged because everyone on social media someone is selling clothing. Somehow i got over that mentality and i am glad i did. I am in the works of starting my business this summer. yayyy so happy 😁

I'm so glad you made this video Jayla. You are literally a huge inspiration. Even on your video that you posted about your hair company, someone told me I must be getting paid by you to be defending you so hard in the comments but what that person doesn't understand is that you don't have to be paid to stand up for a fellow boss lady and black woman. I quit my job as a retail manager in December where I was only making $11 an hour just miserable and left to pursue my dreams and start my freelance design business. So many ppl called me crazy including family bc I'm only 22 and had bills but what they didn't know is that I had a plan and in January 2017 I made almost $3000 from my services and now it's about to be April and I've doubled that money in sales for March and I'm booked out until the end of the summer. The same ppl who doubted me now have their hand out asking me for money. You're right, go for your dreams! You are a big part of the reason I went for mine and so is Raven Elyse and AshleyDBeauty. I know you guys only show snippets of your life but please know that you really have an impact on so many of us that it absolutely outweighs the haters and naysayers. I am super proud of you and can't wait to see what you do next after college. You have an entire Glam squad rooting for you 💕💕💕

JAYLA, YOU ARE REALLY OPENING MY EYES EVEN MORE. DON'T STOP DREAMING and ACHIEVING. I used to make it about age but I am so wrong. I thought growing up that young people have that time and age to dream and achieve. Then it dies down when you settle and older people can't really dream on because they either have work and/or their family to take care of. The thing is, don't let your age limit you. Be 58 yrs old and don't quit it! I am only freakin 19 yrs old and currently a business student. I've learned I don't just work towards my dream when I'm in my 20's because that the "fun" age and when I'm 30, it dies down. Like, even having a youtube channel and the place in where I am at, I got to show God that I'm am faithful with the little before He gives me more. It's truly a humbling stage and I'm sooooooo thankful fr! Jayla (idk if you're gonna read this) I just want to thank you for showing that achieving dreams isn't only in your mind but with God's grace, it can become a reality!

I've been watching your KZbin videos since the very beginning but this video really was amazing. What really hit home to me was when you were debating the hair contract but you felt like you would be compromising yourself...that's REAL. whether its youtube gurus, celebrities, or just regular degular people, SO many people are so afraid of taking a risk they are willing to compromise their beliefs. I hope you continue to stay true to who you are and keep taking those risks! you have grown so much since the very beginning and been a joy to watch. You have an amazing personality and seem so humble and down to earth, i wish nothing but blessings for your future. keep being a great example for all the "Pretty & Educated Glams" out here!

this really speaks to me. I've been lowkey stuck in a rut about this issue that highly bothers me in this country. I live in New Zealand and its so hard for a polynesian girl like me to go into a normal drugstore and be able to find a foundation that is my shade. They only stock foundation shades for light skinned people. Ive always wanted to fill this gap in the market, and I feel like this vid has given me so much truth! Thank u!

I don't usually comment on KZbin videos but I had to comment on this... so I'm one of the OG glam followers and I have watch this young lady flourish so amazingly. I remember when she first started college and was doing her dorm room tutorials and I was so excited (as if it was me that was in her shoes). I started college the year after you and I graduate next year, I'm saying all of this just to say you have more supporters than haters. You are doing things that I see myself doing one day and I know it's possible because I see you doing them. You can't feed into these small minded people, they're that way because it's their limitations and fear. You are doing great and I'm proud of you Jayla.

Listen...this video came right in time for me. I'm a 20 year-old college student and I had to start over my program bc of some bs so where I was supposed to be graduating in 2018 I'll now be graduating in 2020. Every time I see you on KZbin or Instagram I look at your life and just forget that you go through the same struggles that typical college students go through. I have so many things that I want to accomplish like being an entrepreneur and getting straight A's but I'm so afraid to do it because I'm overwhelmed with school & I feel like it's impossible. One thing I know is that there will always be people against you, but you gotta keep it pushing because at the end of the day, no one is living your life except you. All those people with their negative comments aren't the ones that are gonna get you to where you need to be, so don't pay them any attention unless they are simply giving you constructive critique, which they were not. They were just knocking your brand out before even giving it a chance.

Amazing! I have the same thought process about things that i am passionate about. I'm working on venturing into youtube and vlogging myself, while attending school and working on a book. I find that people who do not believe in being different or following their dreams find it hard to understand the next persons passions, neither do they understand how hard you work to accoplish those goals and meet those expectations. I have came close to putting my dreams on hold but young vloggers and entrepreneurs, like you, give me the extra umph that i need, THANKS JAYLA!
