If by "last" you mean the previous, that's the big red saloon with the flathead V8 - the '25 Caddy. If you mean the last car with the shiny new water jackets...I'd have to look back at a previous vid, but I thought it was a Benz? I'll look back and edit this when/if I find the brand name.

Jay, I'm friends with the son of Elwood Engle chief designer of Chrysler from 61 to 74, Elwood designed the turbine car. I was wondering if you still give interviews, Lloyd (Elwood's oldest son) has some great stories about his dad one of which he threw clay at the designs to tell his staff what he likes and dislikes. Lloyd also told me the his dad brought home some one off cars. Would you be interested in meeting him? Either way I enjoy your videos of Jay Leno's garage. Thanks for sharing

My uncle bought a new Firebird in ‘68 and had the car 18 years. It was the base straight 6 cyl 4.1 OHC engine, no power brakes, no A/C, AM only radio. Hardtop same color but black interior. I think he said it was about $2800 new. The key for the ignition was in the dashboard, a button for the brights was on the floor, hubcaps had red centers, the steering wheel was black with the firebird logo in the center, and the spare tire had a black & white plaid cover. By the 80’s, younger mechanics at the gas station couldn’t believe all the empty space they saw in the engine compartment. I always liked the look of it. Reminds me of my late uncle, & it was great to see the car!

Gotta be one of the best utube sites there is . Living in Britain we didn't grow up watching Jay on tv , except for his garage show , which is on one of our channels. He seems really down to earth, a decent guy . It's great that he doesn't just wrap them up & leave the cars un-driven , like so many rich people do.

Love these blogs. I have a 3D printer and started sand casting all my own “unobtainium” parts myself. Technology is great. I also build my own Li-Ion battery banks, power control boards, and cell balancers...working on a 90’s XJS now that I converted to full electric power ( yes I kept the V12 and I’m having it built for another cool project). Still blown away that Konigsegg is doing 800V power plants. Keeps the current low for thinner wires and saves a bunch of weight. During the Pontiac vid you here him say, “I’ll keep it for the next guy,” which shows you he understands he just a caretaker for the wealth of history in his possession now. I’d so love to intern at that shop and help keep the craft of car building alive.

I've been watching Jay ever since he took over Mr Carson's show, it made me smile when he talking about a super rare car,said let kids jump on it , that shows just how genuinely humble he is I wish when I was a kid at random car shows with my dad I could've met someone like Mr. Leno bc it would have been awesome to sit in some of those cars ,instead of standing with my hands behind my back in awe . Kinetic jewelry !!! 😳 Raising that hood will cause involuntary gasps. Beautiful !! For some reason, the car that literally started all of this for you keeps popping into my head. The ‘55(?) Buick that brought you to California in ‘72(?) You said you bought it because it was big enough to sleep (live) in for awhile when you got there because you only had $300 in your pocket. It sat out back neglected for a few decades but finally got the restomod it deserved. When it was done you told us all about the (Corvette?) suspension and drivetrain😳, the trick Steel wheels that made the low profile tires look like original high wall rubber 😳. And all the interior and exterior looking original. I was just blown away. I fell in love with that sneaky boat. I wish you would feature it again in an episode of this show. It deserves revisiting. In fact I believe it deserves a place of honor right inside your door. Please bring it back on the show. 🙏

I've done a little restoration of my own (a 1958 1/4" scale model, in brass and high pressure Zamak castings, of a turn of the century steam locomotive), though nothing to compare with what Jay and his mechanical wizards do on a regular basis. I'm sure many of Jay's fans appreciate the craftsmanship that goes on in this shop. Very satisfying, even to watch. Stay safe, everybody.

Jay, You brought me back with that OHC6 Firebird. I rode to a summer seminar at the GM training center in Dedham, MA every day in the summer of 73 in one of those. The Pontiac was owned by a veteran returning from service in Viet Nam. The veterans got (and deserved) most of the seats in class. But I wiggled in because my dad worked at the big Cadillac Olds store in Boston. That guy absolutely flogged the Firebird. It had the upgraded Sprint setup with the Rochester 4 barrel. I had never felt high rpms before. I really thought he'd break it, but it always ran fine...with high school kid me scared-to-death in the back. What a great car. You will enjoy running it when it's done, guaranteed.

Man, hearing Rabbit 1 start was a thing of beauty. Can't wait to see it get on the road! I love how since it's still being worked on he had to use a string. For some reason that just makes it even cooler. I can just picture it as something like that way back when, sitting on a racing line in the desert or the salt flats amongst other aero-engined edwardian style racing cars, guy in a leather jacket with racing goggles and a flat-cap, starting it up using a string like that.

The story behind the 1938 MG is wonderful. I inherited my great grandads 1936 MG TA that has sat in the shed for 40 years. It actually runs, drives and is very original so I have the goal to preserve it and actually drive it around in the odd location when I pass my driving test. good thing about been in the UK is parts are easy to find and it was put away properly so minimal rust and rot. Hope you get well soon Jay and thank you for you care for the history and stories of all your cars..

I love these restoration blogs so much. Jay has so many unique vehicles that require a technical knowledge of how to start and operate them...blows my mind that he remembers how to use all of these! Either he has great documentation that he references or a great memory! I love the six cylinder Firebird, and I'm glad it's being properly restored, by reinstalling the original six cylinder engine, rather than installing a V8 engine. Perhaps the only upgrade I'd make to the Firebird is install gauges where there were once warning "idiot" lights.

Not like it was just any 6 cylinder Firebird. That one is incredibly rare and worth more than about any V8 1st Gen Pontiac Fbody.

My friend's dad owned an original Wills Saint Claire touring car with the original paint. His father showed me the car and it was the only one I had ever seen or heard of at the time, back in the late 80's. He was a local eye doctor, and drove the car on a regular basis. Looked like a well made, high quality car.

That St.Claire is just fascinating auto. That engine is really advanced for 1919 ! Ive only seen one St.Caire in my 54 years and it was a 4 door six, I cant wait to see the video of that one on the road. Wills St.Claire was a auto genius IMO.

Another great show. I also enjoy the restoration blogs. Few people would be willing to put in the time, effort and finance into a 10 year project as you did with the last car you showed. I remember the new water jackets being made. And I cannot wait to see the car on the road. Without you, this car for most people would have been too far gone to restore. Thanks for caring.

It's great seeing Jay restore each car to be driven. I see so many car hoarders who say that they will restore every car they have but never get any restored, then die with a wrecking yard full of rusted out hulks.

My Father's Uncle, from London, was given a similar MG as a young man. He was a tail gunner in a Lancaster bomber. He died on a bombing raid over Germany. Gifting MGs musta been the thing back in those days.
