I can help it, without any effort at all. The lowrider is a symbol of the Mexican gang subculture, and criminal element in southern California. These are the cars gunshots rang out from in southern California neighborhoods in the 1960s-1980s. Those tatted gang members in these cars would routinely force motorists off the road to rob and murder them. Believe me when I say, I find it very easy to _not_ appreciate anything about this car... or the owner, for that matter.

I don't understand the critical comments - cars are about self expression. People modify their cars to suit their personalities and make them happy to spend time with it. I think it's immature to say 'it looks terrible' etc because whilst you have your opinion, you should still respect others choices and their opinions. If you don't like what someone has done to their car, then so what? Go and customise your car the way you like it and respect other peoples opinions and styles. If everyone had the same taste, then the world would be tasteless
@TravisL.Desmadreson10 жыл бұрын
I wish I had 34 hands to give this comment 34 thumbs up. The funny thing is that narrow minded people think they have seen enough, grown enough, developed themselves enough and start correcting what their ignorant eyes think is wrong. Very few things are wrong. The things that ARE wrong, are universally wrong, murder, theft, abuse in any level. Blah blah blah. These are cars, damn good ones too. Part of the goodness is they belong to others.. Sorry for the long winded comment. I will return to my PCP and HEROIN, pz to all. Jay, you rule.

Wow! I 've lived in Albuquerque all my life, and have seen a lot of low riders. These two were fantastic. I really loved the sleek look of the black one, and that engine. Wow, great cars!

how can anyone hate on lowriders done up like this?
@davids.7949 жыл бұрын
+M Rod I have nothing against the car, but middle-aged men look fairly ridiculous in them.
@ddavid1229 жыл бұрын
You can't, the level of workmanship and engineering done on them is top notch. The paint job on both those cars is enviable. And lastly, unlike many wanna be restomods or hot rods or ricers, the power train on these two is very legit.

@@davids.794 Why do you allow the subject of a person's age control the way you think of other people? Age is simply a measurement that represents the length of time someone has existed on this Earth. Nothing more, nothing less.

nobody mentioned the hard work of wrapping that x frame in 1/4 inch steel. There's alot of work done to these cars before paint & hides get installed.

I really do appreciate lowriders as an artform even though I'm more off an import tuner guy myself. I love the attention to detail and the high standard of craftsmanship which is seen with the more serious builds.

Cruising with the crazy uncle... lol... Love you Jay. It is awesome to see that you appreciate these as well. Any car guy that looks at low-riders objectively has to appreciate the art form. And what a better compliment can we get than to get a nod from the ultimate car guy.

I have to clear the air my father who was Malties started lowriding w/ hydraulics on them rather than air shocks and shackles. My father's car club was called Las Estrellas back in the 70s I believe in Daly City California. He lived close to the SF airport and new the mechanics. He got the idea to transform the cars suspension from a old car that had a stock single hydraulic to lift car up from scraping in drive way. He went to the airport mechanics with the idea of using hydraulics from landing gear on plane. The mechanic laughed with amazement thinking it was crazy but would work. He gave him used equipment which was good from the plains along w/ instructions on hydraulics. He made it work for a while until the piston ripped off the and shot through the fender and into the air lol. He soon learned where to get the right sized equipment. With the help from his friend Robert from Low Creations who was the treasure of Las Estrellas at the time they started a new generation of car culture.

Comments like most of you on here make me hate ppl in general. These cars are works of art, until you see something like these in person you can't understand. Im a fan of all cars, muscle cars, imports,exotic,lowriders,mini trucks,ratrods and everything else. If its built with passion thats all you need. Everyone is entitled to their opinion but if you don'like something turn it off. Now i just want to say love the channel and those cars are amazing. Love the attention to detail, the lines and of course the paint on both cars. Keep up the good work jay.

Saw my first lowrider when I moved to Phoenix in 1980. Guy I worked with had a side business doing welding on cars. I was looking at the batteries and pumps driving the hydraulic system. I asked why they used such a primitive system. I called a friend in Massachusetts to send me a catalog from a company that sold DIY snowplow and sanding equipment. I showed Charlie and his brother in law hydraulic pumps that bolted to the engine block or onto brackets under the hood. No need for a bunch of batteries. Pistons with different ends for custom configuration. They were amazed at this stuff. They put a few things on their project car. Big hit with their friends. No more hacking the frames,weakening the car. Saving the steering and suspension geometry.The workmanship on some of these lowriders was labor of love. Then you see one hooked up to a tow truck with the front end folded.
